2 conferences, 24 teams each: Southeastern Conference and B1G Conference
4 division in each conference, 6 teams each.
Southeastern - Saban, Bryant, Dooley and Neyland
B1G - Schembechler, Hayes, Fry and Stagg
Each conference will have an 8 team playoff (4 division winners and 4 at large)
Note: This is just hypothetical. I'm not saying it will happen exactly like this.

This highlight an other discussion is the we really need NCAA foolball to pared down to four 8-Team conferences in division1 football. Have them ONLY play division 1 teams also.
Let to two highest finishers of the subsequent division2 have the option to replace the two lowest finishing division 1 schools.

Another though here. People talk about weakness in the ACC and Big12, but look at is this way. If the NCAA holds with the 12 team play off and keep everyone together fo 5-10 years making the play-offs will be a recruiting tool. You'll see the Big12 get better and you'll see the ACC get better. You might even see some SEC teams get tired of the cluster at the top and move over to the ACC or Big12 so that their program does not have to survive the onslaught every year. Time will level this all out.

I think what it’s saying is if you’re not in one of the cool guy conferences, then you’re pretty much an FCS team.

I think they actually have the format exactly right this year.
I know they will change it soon.
But in my opinion, they should not.

This push this year more so than others! They lost once, right, to the number 1 P4 team. That's it.
Army was a great story. Tulane for a minute. These schools could really use that media time, and attention nationally to help level the playing field. And not by much! Not many folks wanted to play am army or Boise this year!
