Where do you rank Tucker Israel on depth chart right now

May 3, 2017, 12:34 PM

#3? #4?

Now, second question... If NOTHING changed, except Tucker magically grew to 6'3", overnight, would it change your ranking of him?

Maybe, but he isn't exactly fleet of foot, and you need to be at least able to move around in order to run out offense effectively. So that's where my doubts come in.

Since he ran NO plays in the Spring Game, how do we know how he runs? The other 3 QB's ran several plays. I found that interesting.

That said - I rank him #3.

1A Johnson 1B Bryant
2 Cooper
3 Israel

Even if he was 6'3", I don't think he's mobile enough to run our offense. Better fit for a Mike Leach offense.

How is Johnson 1A when all the coaches say that if we played today, Bryant would be the starter?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I believe Johnson will start vs Auburn or game after

May 3, 2017, 1:43 PM

With Bryant playing a Wildcat role. Bryant should be starter going into fall camp... But he's not our best QB.

If we could get Israel's accuracy, Bryant's running ability,

May 3, 2017, 12:44 PM

and Coopers arm strength into one player,

Then we'd have DW4 (part 2).

That pretty much sounds like an accurate description of Hunter Johnson

Add in Logan Thomas' height and you could call him Trevor.***

With hunter/zerrick tied behind him. He's the only one who gets the ball out quick, their's no hesitation in his decisions which means he knows the playbook/defenses better than everyone else. And he's not scared to throw a inside post route. If you watch all the other guys in the spring game they played it safe 85% of the time throwing out routes. And the times they did try to stretch it out only one of them connected adn that was Hunter.

He's just short. If he was 6-2 he'd be playing somewhere already. Dudes a gunslinger with preparation. I like him.

You and I have very similar thoughts

was wondering if I was the only one.

right there, in the mix, good command of system, good spring. Just like Dabo said.

Running speed and size hurt Israel. Bryant goes into practice no 1 but Johnson/Cooper aren't far behind. Johnson or Cooper own the job by the ACC championship game against the weak Coastal team.

I see him as grad. transfer then starring at a place like Fl

Fl. Central or Fl. Southern or one of those other fairly new Florida schools!

Definitely in my top 5***

I think he may be the best passer. I'd like to see more from Zerrick before I put either at 2

Right now I'd put Tucker #2 behind Bryant because he

May 3, 2017, 8:52 PM

looks comfortable with the system, he throws well, and he's quick with the tempo. I think fall camp for Hunter and Zerrick will likely bridge the comfort and tempo gaps though and I see those two battling for 2 heading into the opener. Tucker has some pop. I hope they all get a chance to play during the course of the season.

We need to settle on one qb as quickly as possible. Look at Auburn last season when they used multiple qbs.

And look at Florida when they won it all with Tebow and

Leak.

It's not usually the case, but sometimes it is. Each scenario is a little different. I like the idea that we're deep enough in many areas on offense where we could run multiple lines and change up the attack on the fly. Take it up a notch.

Our defense is going to be so nasty, just... I mean nasty, that the competitive spirit and confidence of whatever QB has the helm when it counts will put us in a position to win. I see several that I believe will be able to deliver on that once the season is underway. No rush.

Not sure. I haven't seen a single practice***
