is often very subjective depending upon the perspective and agenda of the person making the claim.
A teacher recently told everyone in her class to stop acting like a bunch of monkeys. Some kid went home and told his parents and they immediately accused the teacher of using a racial slur and demanded her immediate termination.

Let me try to help you out here. I'm sure you're a decent guy. It's not good idea to assign racists motives to someone when you really don't know. His comments may not have been the wisest but that' a far cry from deliberately hurling racists insults at Clemson football players, which is what you seem to be convicting him of. I find it very difficult to believe a guy who makes his living on national television deliberately tossed out racists insults.
