Yes! 1/3 of the Tiger Band goes to away games when they have to fly to the games. For closer games like in Atlanta, Charlotte or Columbia, SC, they take the whole band.
Band members take turns going to the different road games when only 1/3 of the band goes.

I remember when they used to send the whole band a lot more

We went to Maryland, stayed in Georgetown, awesome trip. We went to Tally and stayed in a cheap Red Roof Inn, red shag carpet, purple bedding, brown paneling... awful, but Major Harris ran for his life. We went to Blacksburg, was the perfect fall day, the weather, leaves, mountains.

Did the full band go to FSU or just a smaller pep band? Looked like they were sitting in the stands when FSU band performed at the half. That would have been a fast return to their seats if they had performed on the field prior to the Marching Chiefs,

I am pretty sure it was only about 100 members of Tiger Band in Tallahassee. Really disappointed they don't send the full band to more regular season away games like they used to. We used to always send the full band to FSU game in Tallahassee.

At Pittsburgh last year, it seemed we only had like 30 member pep band. I was sitting in the section next to the band and could not really hear them. Notre Dame would have been an ideal game to send the full band. Looks like the only game we are sending the full band to this year will be the Georgia Tech game in Atlanta (a day trip).

Since we've made the playoffs so frequently during the CFP period and send the full band to the bowl and national championship games, it seems the philosophy has changed to just send pep bands to most away games in the regular season (and really small pep bands for trips by air). I think we should send the full band to at least 2 regular season away games each year.

Yes. FSU, GT, Georgia and South Carolina always bring their full bands to the Valley and perform at halftime. The other ACC schools no band or small pep band. Auburn brought their full band both times to the Valley too.

When I was in Tiger Band in ‘79 for ND

Oct 24, 2022, 12:09 AM

The whole band went to South Bend. We were told IPTAY gave us enough money to fly but the band director wanted to save $ so we took buses. Spent the night in Ohio (Cincinnati I think) and drive straight through back to Clemson after the game. Constant partying esp after the game. I was so worn out I got the flu and ended up in Redfern overnight ( they used to have a few beds like a hospital).
