But my doctor has credentials and experience that I do not. So, when he gives his diagnosis, I defer to his expertise.

When my truck makes a funny noise, I form an opinion on what is wrong. But my ASE certified mechanic who has been running his own shop successfully for twenty plus years tells me what is wrong. I defer to his expertise and experience.
