Not a Jan 6 Bowl game for FSU. Bowl games are exhibitions and if not for a championship you will only see back-ups playing due to not worth the risk. Bowl games are for advertising and selling.

Hindsight is 20/20. That has no bearing on whether FSU should be in or not. They proved on the field they should be in. No reason to play the games if that's the case. Let's just evaluate the recruiting rankings for the playoff every year.

None of that matters!!! It’s all subjective. They can’t beat the is team with this guy is all conjecture. You have to use the record and results or what else is the point of even playing the games. Bama should have lost to an auburn team last week who got blown out by New Mexico State.

Injuries are not within a teams control. If it's a legitimate sport, you can't penalize a team for things they can't even control. But we found out today, it's not a legitimate sport. It's a beauty contest judged by the power players of college football. To the committee money/power > play on the field.

maybe they should start changing metrics within the actual game, quin ewers or the washington QB gets hurt early in the first quarter, immediately halt the game, cancel it. then reschedule the next team up..........certainly you shouldn't be there.

That doesn’t matter. They deserve the opportunity to get demolished by Michigan. No seriously, they deserve the chance as an undefeated, power 5, conference champ, to prove their worth in the CFP.
3 games ago they lost their QB and the committee left them in the final 4. What changed? Oh I know, there was a threat that no SEC team would be in the playoff.
That my friend smells like shenanigans! Bottom line, the final 4 is the committees opinion and they did just that. Based on their opinion they excluded a team that did everything right.

I would not be shocked to see either of these 2 teams play very poorly in their NY6 game. Both of these 2 teams are probably feeling pretty down right now, and the coach that can get their guys most up to play the next game might be the one to walk away with the win. It will be very hard for Smart to motivate the guys that have played in the last 2 championships to play hard in a "meaningless" bowl game. FSU might come out ready to prove the doubters wrong, who knows what might happen!

If I were Florida State and I beat Georgia in the Orange Bowl. Alabama beats Michigan, and Texas beats Washington. I'd stake a claim to the national championship. The only undefeated team in the power five.

personally, I would really love having FSU maybe play a tough game against UGA, beating them by a touchdown or so, because that would be a kind of sweet chef's kiss demonstrating how mindless them getting left out was, especially if Alabama gets knocked out by a Michigan team.

I think FL State loses to any of these teams with their current QB but they deserved to at least get a shot in the playoffs.
I dont see how a QB that throws for 55 yards against LOUISVILLE can do anything against any of the top 5 teams. They will probably get blown out by UGA but they still deserved a spot in the playoffs based on the fact they are an undefeated power 5 champion.

It should never be about who can beat who. If that were true it would be
1.Bama
2.GA
3.Mich
4.Texas/Washington
You can’t go off of betting lines or who is playing the best at the end of the season. The whole season should count and I am absolutely on the most deserving wagon. Heck I think Oregon would beat Mich if they played. Does that mean Oregon should be in? No.

Yes. That's what it means. The problem is there is not enough cross-conference play to warrant the current system. There is absolutely no way to tell if a Pac 10 team is as good as an SEC team if there's zero interaction. An NFL model is needed in this system. (It makes me sad to say that)
