When Dabo ripped CW a new one...

that wasn't as much for CW as it was for the rest of the team. I have no issue with that. And I bet CW doesn't either.

It was a stupid thing to do and he knows it.

Eh, much worse isn't flagged
Nov 26, 2018, 10:05 AM

He didn't taunt, he didn't do a choreographed dance, he didn't take his helmet off or gesture to the opposing team or fans, he didn't hold the game up for any serious period of time... he struck a pose for about 2 seconds.
I understand that if it gets flagged Dabo has to do what Dabo has to do. I would imagine the discussion was like many I've had with my kids over weird rules at their school... "Ok, I'm with you that that rule doesn't seem to make sense, but they get to make the rules, and we have to follow them. I have to hold you to follow them because that's my job. Don't do it again, cause now you know better."

Dabo was correct, as I remember the penalty on kickoff resulted in a usuck td.

The penalty literally gave them 2 yards.

It went from a likely touchback (them getting the ball on the 25) to a return which got them to the 27.

getting chewed out for it was right as well. Wilkins has always been a bit immature. Time for him to grow up.

Don't think immature is the right description. He does act

like a kid at times but that's part of what makes him such a great teammate and Clemson guy! This "kid" has been one of our best leaders and players Clemson has ever had! We are really going to miss him and Renfrow next year! Go Tigers!

Yeah he should have just run into the endzone, no need to

jump/dive there and risk a turnover. Just use that big frame to run em over and get the six points.
The celebration was awesome.

I don't have an issue with CW celebrating. I personally loved it and was pissed at the flag. However, I also understand Dabo taking a coaching moment with his player.

To us it looked like he was chewing him out, but in real life he was probably like "man that was awesome Christian, we're going to outback later and you get an extra steak!"

I didn’t have any problem with it. CW took it like a man and

when he was done, he and Dabo had a laugh about something that was said (saw that in a later replay). It’s all good. It’s what coaches do. I suspect anyone crying about it never played competitive sports.

CW will say he has no problem with it but who wants to get chewed out on national television like a 6 year old kid. Some say it’s great coaching and setting an example, I say it’s out of character for Dabo and could be handled at practice.

or defensive play? By that logic, they should flag every first down signal (which I hate) that players do, or any defensive celebration.

I suspect that there had been a discussion about potential penalties and not giving refs any potential reason to throw a flag.

than what he, or most any other D-lineman, does after any sack they get! Just a case of an SEC ref trying to show his authority!
