The “fans” who have had the opportunity this year to attend a practice session and see how the players are developing. That is one way to determine a lot of things. How a QB is or isn’t developing, how the receivers are being coached to make plays, how the injured guys are responding to treatment. And the list goes on and on. Everything that you complain about is being addressed in practice. If the players aren’t getting it then there is a problem! The coach can teach the offensive lineman how to block and who to block but at some point, the player has to decide how to make the plays. I have been fortunate enough to attend a few practice sessions and I see how hard and demanding the coaches are with these players. Our backup quarterback is a really a talented guy and I assure you that he will be developed into a big time player.... sooner than later. I’m with most of you when you complain of his lack of playing time. But there hasn’t been a lot of blow away games that allowed the coaches to experiment. I question this but it isn’t an issue that should separate or divide the team or fan base, Dabo has his way of doing things and those of us who truly support him will allow him to be the man.I made a deal with the coaches that many of you should make .... I promised that I would not interfere with their attempts at coaching if they promised to not interfere with my forest management practices. So far it has worked.
This turmoil is not a good thing for our football team and if you wish to add to it you have every right.

Your input will be valuable to me. Perhaps I’ll see you there. Or, will you be close enough for a telescope.

Here are things I know

|
|
I don't need to be a Dr. to know when my kids are sick
I don't need to be a mechanic to know I have car problems
I don't need to be a chef to cook a decent meal
I don't need to know how a clock is built to tell time
I don't need to be a marine biologist to know what a fish is
See where I'm going with this?

Practice only tells you so much. There are players that are studs in practice and stink in live fire and you have players that are much better in live fire than in practice.
One thing Dabo was really good at was bringing in key players in meaningful downs to develope...including the QB position. With obviously the weakest QB we've had since Cole Stoudt I cannot fathom why Cade hasn't had a few series in the first half. You are using practice as a cover.

In practice you see where the coaches think improvement ,and changes, need to be made.
Believe it or not they see the same things that you and I see.
Clemson is weak in some areas. It doesn’t take a Clemson fan or some other genius to figure that out. Sometimes you can hide those weak areas and, at times, you can’t. Other teams have coaches too. It is very apparent that our QB position is a weakness. The coaches have tried, I think, to hide these flaws in our offense but opposing coaches are trained too! A lot of us think that putting in an inexperienced young quarterback will solve this problem. Dabo doesn’t think so. He knows I don’t. Guess what? You don’t either! Could be a good way to totally destroy a potential super player.

But you need a doctor to know what to do for your kids when they are sick
And you need a mechanic to fix your car when it isn’t working - or at least most of us who are not mechanics do
And someone has to build that clock so it will keep proper time.
See where I’m going with this? Anyone can point out a problem. You usually need some expertise to fix it.

When are our coaches going to fix it?

This is the second year in a row of poor QB play, poor WR play, and undisciplined play in general.
Yet they keep minimizing the issues we have and showing little to no evidence of working on our problems, much less fixing them.

LOL. As OC in his first year Brandon Streeter's offense has

been significantly more productive than last season's in both yardage and points. DJ is significantly improved numbers wise as well. He went from a 9/10 ratio to 22/7 plus % and yards all higher. Granted, the bar was very low last year, and we've had some difficult stretches of late, but Streeter's first stint at OC, your Year 2, has delivered a better product than Year 1.
So the trajectory is up. Better QB play is obviously critical so hoping we have that in our midst.

Not even going to read this hole thing. Game play should have a hugh part of the discussion. Early 70s, Clemson 2 QB, one sucked at practice and the other sucked in games. After a few games down the road they figured the one that sucked at practice wins games. So please, it's more than just practice.

He is choking, choking. Can't handle being the guy. This is the difference of his play at ND 3 years ago. I'm the backup and have nothing to loose. Now I'm the guy and everyone is watching. The more he screws up the more he chokes.
