What's the over/under that the Auburn situation

Apr 4, 2013, 7:37 AM

Gets swept under the rug and fizzles out like a bad f@rt just because they are in the SEC. Because we all know nobody wants to tarnish anybody from the "mighty SEC".

Gotta say odds of that are pretty good based on how the NCAA

has handled other cases in this conference, e.g., South Carolina was in the category of repeat offendor status and they got nothing but a wink from the NCAA, Tennessee cheated for years and nothing ever happeneded to them, etc.

If this is as bad as it appears to be I can't see this one getting swept under the rug.
The NCAA has very little credibility. If they do nothing, then, imo, they lose what little credibility they do have left.

So far the NCAA has an easy out. The money figures in the article are very small. Yes it points to a corrupt program who pays players/recruits for everything but if its not handed directly to the NCAA they can just ignore it. Look at UNC only the obvious is considered and everything else is ignored.

Not to worry, they have hired the offensive coordinator of that period as head coach. Guess he did not know what was going on. Reminds of usuc hiring the Ohio State compliance director to clean up their program.
