What is causing the difference? If football lost the same % as basketball this year - it would have lost 42. We lost 6.

Based on the 105 limit for football and 15 for basketball.
Basketball team lost 6 or 40%.
Football team has the same number of entrants - 6 - but much less %. - 5.7%.
Why such a difference?

Maybe it is simply a spike.
The data reveals - partially. But if you look at each year - football has lost less than basketball every year.

Actual numbers to follow.

2025
Football - 6 = 5.7%
Basketball - 6 = 40%
2024
Football - 12 =11%
Basketball - 4 =27%
2023
Football - 12 = 11%
Basketball - 2 = 13%
2022
Football - 11 = 10%
Basketball - 2 = 13%

4 year average (to remove spikes).
Football = 9.42%
Basketball = 23.25%

Why the difference?

why compare football and basketball? Maybe look at basketball as a whole versus Clemson. Same with football.

Not a bad thought. Then cross reference.
Maybe after I finish doing my taxes. (Been putting it off long enough).

Football program has a slide and the basketball program has unhinged “fans” trashing the HC and program on a daily basis.

Is there a point? The Portal in basketball is just a reality that is now a part of the sport.

I really can't explain it but I think it's the tariffs.

We can't even have a meaningful discussion without that data.

All it takes is 2 to leave for the basketball team to be over 10%

In this environment not necessarily a good comparison can be made

It doesn’t make much of a difference, but you can’t use the 105 limit for previous years.

And your point is what?

Once again, Clemson fans only understand football and are totally lost when trying to rip the basketball program. It is numbers. You are comparing apples to oranges. It means nothing. Welcome to college athletics 2025.

The roster sizes make this an apples to oranges comparison...We had 3 starters

make an ALL ACC team...that's 60% of our starters...Did 60% of our football starters make ALL ACC? Is anyone saying we recruit better in basketball? You have attempted to paint a target around an arrow... that doesn't make it a bullseye though

If 60% of our basketball starters made an All ACC team

then this further illustrates the coaching divide. CBB could not even make the ACC Championship game with a team loaded with All ACC talent. Dabo not only made the ACCCG, with far lesser talent, he won it.

I have faith CBB will get us there though.

"I've played multiple sports and would bet any amount that I'm still more athletic than you at this present time...."

So you're saying Dabo is a lesser recruiter? Bold stance, but you're never wrong
