It will be like falling on your sword. Alabama fans will run whoever it is out of Tuscaloosa within 3 years.
They don’t have the money that Texas and UGA have to compete in the cess pool that is now college football. It will be an extremely challenging situation.

I think there's a tremendous amount of truth to that. Wouldn't be surprised if they promote from within. Kinda like Dabo did with street. Got a chance but a very short leash. Just a thought.

While some Bama fans gathered and chanted “Anyone but Dabo” .. in a year these same fans will wish they had them some Dabo ..sometimes history does repeat itself. The Bear retired in ‘82 .. the program went into football purgatory for years afterwards. You can hire a new coach however, none will be Saban. I expect a similar drop off .. and the same fans that turned their noses up at Dabo will be begging him to come to put the program back together.
The Coots will have to climb under the skirts of another SEC team now ..

I think there is an interesting comparison here to transition UNC's basketball team went through after Dean Smith retired. Bill Guthridge was a good transition/caretaker for a couple of years while they waited to go get Roy Williams. But then Williams was not ready to leave Kansas. So after the disaster that was Matt Doherty, and with a couple more years past having to live in Dean Smith's shadow, UNC got the one they wanted Roy Williams. Roy was already deep into his career at that point and there was no other school he would have left Kansas for except UNC. And then when he did finally come to UNC he had a great run winning 3 national championships.
All a long winded way of saying perhaps Dabo gets the the call again in 3 years when the person succeeding Sabin doesn't work out.
(why do I know all this as a Clemson fan about UNC basketball? because i live in the triangle of NC and have had to live with UNC and Duke basketball nuts for years)

Roy Williams was just another UNCheater like those b4 him, including Dean Smith. The African American Studies academic and athletic fraud went over for over 20 years, until a former UNCheater athlete took them to court because his college degree was worthless. Athletes from all sports were encouraged by the Athletic Department to major or take courses I the pretend classes. When Ol Roy's team won the NCAAT, 4 of the starters were majoring in AAS, and the 5th starter was taking most of his classes in the AAS department. It was the worst fraud NCAA ever, due to the crookedness and the duration. Of course, UNCheat bribed their way out of a penalty (of significance) due to Swoffie's pleading and begging at the NCAA hearings. (Swoffie was scum that kept us in the Raycom deal to enrich his family. Then he negotiated the GOR thru 2036 w ESPN. He was a crook.)

What we are seeing is that everybody is speculating that the media knows what they’re talking about. Do you actually think all of these article writers have some inside information about who Alabama has contacted, who they have not contacted, and who they’ve even considered to make an offer to? People are looking for clicks, and everybody believes what they see.

Usually when A Legend leaves

The Program has taken a dive the last few years. That's not the case with Bama. Still 75 of their 85 4 stars and above. Beta males might run, but at this point ,it's like Day at OSU, take over a TOP program and coast.
There might be more, but ,at this point, I've only read about 2 that didn't want the job, and that was out of LOYALTY to the schools that gave them their chance.
Mind you, 1 is NC contender and the other has NIKE $$$$ and will own the B1G

The tenth call will answer and take the job for the wrong reasons, they will be gone after year two. If you follow a legend it’s rare air to live up to those expectations. ####, maybe they should call Deion. He’s the only one arrogant enough to believe he could.

He’ll go recruiting and anyone who’s a good coach can recruit & win at Alabama but it won’t be enough for the fans!
Don’t be surprised if they hire Muschump and Beamer as Co-head coaches, Dabo made the suggestion.
