They will have more sit out a down fake injuries than any 3 ACC teams we will play. It will take 5 hours to play the game with clock stoppage from fake injuries.

Don't know how much gasping they will be doing, since they also run a HUNH offense (I think I'm right on that), but Steele will have no answers, and neither will they, if they are following his lead. There is a reason Steele has been at 4 different stops in the last 4 or 5 years, and it isn't due to his prowess.

I have to admit with age the memory is one of the first things that start moving out. But wasn't Steele's defense kind of hard to learn. Wasn't it also said it wasn't enough time for college players to learn without special eyes that Steele preaches. Somebody help me out here!!!

Yea Kevin Steele makes a huge difference....
Just ask Conner Shaw, Geno Smith, and all the other QB's that ran all over his defenses.
DW4 is going to have a field day....

He's going to love it when the linebackers are looking at the sideline and out of position when the ball is snapped.

The offense should put in a few option looks for Steele. He never could figure out how to stop Ga Tech. I remember a few years ago in the ACC championship game all he could do was look at his defense & point to his eyes - it never worked.

WHAT IS THE OVER /UNDER Kevin Steele

being let go halftime. if we score 6 or 7 TDs before half? I know Dabo is a humble person but Steele embarrassed him in the Orange Bowl. I have to think a little punishment is warranted at this time.

I love the way you think, and I hope Dabo does put in an extra dig for the embarrassment all of us Clemson folks took home that night.

with a good plan. Auburn may not be able to execute it. Steele did win some games with us against top 20 competition. We will see. I think we win but as I said below it will be a hard fought game.

If that's seriously the case, that's a clear slap in the face to last years DC at Auburn.

Surely you can not be for real.. If you were, you wouldn't know an thing about football. Player scared, you find yourself without a job. I don't think LSU put up a fight. Right the opposite of what you see in Death Valley now. Coach V is a defensive coach. Keep bringing the house coach V!
Again, Watson will RIP him apart.

What was that QB run that TCU ran against us under Steele?
Jul 12, 2016, 8:04 PM

It was some kind of zone read but with a pulling guard. They ran it at will and Steele could not figure out how to stop it. DW4 is going to have a big night.

All I remember about Steele is our defense would be looking at the sidelines up to and even while the ball was being snapped. I am no defensive guru, but I always thought the players seemed lost and constantly out of position when he was around.

Unlike many on here I actually think Steele has some value as a DC. However, Coach Steele's time has pretty much passed him by. Against more vanilla type offenses like Alabama, LSU, and Georgia (Historically at least) he is effective. However against spread type teams, with lot of motion, he has strugged mightily. In 1985, the dude was great. Now... time to hang up the whistle imo. Still, I don't take this game lightly. Auburn has players. They have had a long time to focus on is and this game. It dosn't take a genius to come up with a decent game plan when you have that much time, but you DO have to execute. I wish I could feel as comfortable as many of you, but any Gus Malzhan offense troubles me. I can't say if he is a good HC, but The dude can flat out coach an offense. While I hope we can boat race them, I refuse to take this Jeckyl and Hyde team for granted.

steele...

A few observations from steele's past (most provided from previous Tnet input): - was great against Pro Style offenses at Clemson (see VT) - we don't run that. - sec has/had a few teams running pro style that helped pad his numbers and confidence - who leaves LSU for auburn especially when you have a top 25 defense? - never thought he could adjust in game situations, i.e. GT and wvu
Agree with earlier post regarding bama's struggles to stop Clemson's O. Really do not see steele slowing us down.
And our D? Well BV has shown he can get it done against anyone so far. He is the man.
Considering we have a degreed engineer running half our O (& Scott really good as the other half), the best D coordinator I've seen in a while running our D and I fell pretty darn good headed into this game!

Let's see how long that last. Not betting man, but mark it down if you wish. I give him 3 years, can't see it being 4. One of the worst defense's coordinator I've ever seen.
Going ahead and play the coners 8 yards off the ball, Coach. DeShawn will rip him apart!
