Seniors who are quitting mid game. TJ Parker quit. Cade sucks. ### is this guy talking about? He hasn't learned anything. He keeps talking about God and faith. That has nothing to do with winning football games and complete lack of effort from veteran players. I can't believe what I'm hearing.

Even now, with the terrible four game start now in the books, Dabo speaks about broader season (revised) goals instead of committing to the (should always be) next game I.e., UNC.
He should take responsibility of making too many comments about the overall season; coming from the CEO, this indicates that we are ‘good enough’ to have two focuses, instead of just one I.e., our next opponent I.e., UNC.
Getting back to the raw basics should have been Dabo’s direction, and he should have manned up by admitting to something along the lines of ‘I’ve been talking too much about overall goals for the team. This has been a big mistake, to which I am solely responsible. We won’t be focusing on anything other than our next opponent for the remainder if the season. You’ll know what to expect for each press conference for the remainder of 2025. I’m ready for any questions pertaining to our game in Chapel Hill two weekends away.’
But he chose another path, which, IMO, reveals that his head is still in the clouds while his keester is sitting on the pot.

I understand the coach speak and realize it is expected. The only entertaining part was watching all the loons get lathered up about a “big announcement” instead of just the weekly call whose time change was announced last week.

Where was the focus on UNC? Given that we’ve proven during the first 3rd of the season that we cannot take any opponent for granted, one would think that he’d finally figure this out and make a public reset of ‘our only focus is in our next opponent, which is UNC.’
He’s whiffing.

We always start the offense’s plays with a running play. Every opponent knows this. We’re afraid of making mistakes (which reflects a lack of confidence in the coaches and key player(s) in offense), so we play it safe with a conservative run call.
Want to get a fast start? Try doing something on offense to get our opponent off balance.

Rileys not the only one at fault for the offensive struggles…
Some of the same issues are here from the Streeter days. WR progressions, QB Development, Strength and conditioning, lack of RB depth
Offensively we need to clean house.

I’ve worked with several people who “care” and are just too incompetent or not talented enough to get the job done.
Just because you care doesn’t mean there’s going to be a turn around… and if there was going to be one, wouldn’t we have seen it after the Troy game?

The best part was his response on Riley…

At least we don’t have to guess about one change being made at the end of the season.

If Dabo were at Bama he would have to make the change now. The pressure would be too great.

He would be out of a job too. Nobody in the SEC is going to put up with 5 years of this crap.

Exactly. He can hire anyone he wants and it will be the same result. Position coaches with no chance of coaching at any other d1 school ,should be first on the chopping block.

History says otherwise. Chad Morris and Brent Venables are proof of what I say.

And that's the problem in a nutshell. We have no idea if Riley is an offensive genius because he's calling plays out of the same playbook we've been using since Chad Morris. Anyone who has been watching Clemson for the past decade can call the plays before they happen... 90% of the time, the defense is sitting on the play just as if they were in our huddle. I'm convinced that he will leave at the end of the season without us ever knowing if he was a good hire or not.

I can’t listen to this guy anymore. Grow a set of balls and light a fire under some people. I used to think the guy was just ultra positive, but now I believe he’s really bad at reading the situation in front of him

I would hope we are just getting the milk toast version in public and behind the scenes he’s doing his job. But, that might be wishful thinking on my part.

Getting rid of Riley doesn’t solve the issue(s).

No, but it is a piece of the puzzle. Our issues are multidimensional…

After listening to presser Dabo still hasn't learned his lesson. There's nothing worse than self delusion and this here is a classic case of it! Some hard decisions need to be made and they need to be made soon. Jeff needs to grow a pair and have a heart to heart about using the portal. Hey Dabo you cannot win in college football now without using it. Wake up and get your head out of the sand.Anyone with one eye a half a mind and a broke pencil can figure that out!

Will do the trick to squeeze all that bs out of cds.
And I don’t think Riley is necessarily the problem either being forced to us existing coaches and running ‘Clemson’ offense.
He will tell all if/when he is let go. Believe that!

Are we really supposed to believe that he genuinely went from arrogant lecturer, “all we do is win,” “if they don’t like it they can fire me” last Tuesday, to the postgame tears, “these guys are hurting,” “I feel like I’ve let a lot of people down” in less than a week?
Some of this feels manipulative and self-serving. Perhaps all of it is. I hope I’m wrong.
