What is Jeff Scott's responsibilities during the game?

Mar 25, 2016, 6:14 PM

I know Tony Elliot does most of the play calling from in the booth, so what is Scott doing? Is it mostly personnel related with taking care of the substitutions and whatnot? I assume it's that as well as letting Elliot know what he's seeing from field level?

Serious answers please I know I already should probably know this I guess I just never thought of it before!

I think Dabo lets all his position coaches make the calls as to what players are on the field. Scott probably gets input from the players about what they're seeing and sends it up too Elliott and also what he sees.

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

I think it's pretty much what Chad Morris did on the field. Things are moving fast, he needs to be on top of the hand signals being sent to the O, he can get in a players face if he needs to etc. He can huddle the O line or the receivers together instead of talking to them one at a time on the phone. I'm sure it is how every team will operate in the future. One guy in the booth and one guy on the field for both sides of the ball.
