What has the fanbase so riled up with the football situation

Clemson has not lost more than one regular season game since 2014. That is seven years without two regual season losses. I don't think anyone is spoiled to the point that they would think we'd never lose two games in a season, or fail to make the ACCCG again. Everyone knows there are bound to be years in which those goals aren't met. It's been a long time, but we are due to have an off year.
What is bothering people is that it is one thing to have a season where say UNC has a top qb and they catch us and happen to beat us, or Florida State or Miami is back. Maybe Virginia Tech or any other teams build up and catch up with Clemson. That is just normal. What is happening this year,howver, is just a jolt because nobody has caught up, rather Clemson has just completely bottomed out on offense. We find ourselves looking up at every single other team on offense. That is all on Clemson. Nobody caught up and challenged, Clemson just let the offense go to the point of being below everyone. I know, we lost Lawrence and Etienne. Well, that doesn't mean a team that has had five straight top 10 recruiting classes shuuld just drop to complete nothing.
People are concerned because we have really dropped a huge level. Despite top recruiting classes, if this offense doesn't get fixed, this could turn into a multi year situation. I dont think the coaches we have on that side of that ball right now are capable of fixing it. They are why we are here.

I can't speak for the fan base, but I will tell you what has me so riled up;
And it's not losing to Georgia, or any top 10 team in a year after we lose #16 and a #9 to the pros.
But after 2 games( and I will not factor S.C. State into the equation) our offense has scored a dismal 2 touchdowns, both against a team that is 1-2 with it's only win against Kennesaw St.
As Clemson enters week 4,there is not a team remaining that Clemson should not beat by double digits.
Still some might be happy with an 8 point win against TECH, but at any time another ugly offensive performance raises its head and Clemson ends up on the wrong side of the gun ,there goes any playoff aspirations the team may have .We may still wind up and win the ACC but no 2 loss team with as soft a strength of schedule as Clemson has will make the CFP's.
Add to that there does not seem to a be much concern, or sense of urgency by the Head Coach ,or the offensive coaching staff as to a problem even existing ,or how to correct it.
AND THAT IS WHAT HAS ME RILED UP!

Agree with 81's points. I was with you up until the coaches. No good coach would say his team stinks. But I can quarrentee there's a real sense of urgency.
And yes "dead horse" analogy is correct. However, I don't think our offense is bad. I liken this to 2017. Had we lost KB the first game in 2017, that offense with all its playmakers, would most likely been performing as 3 games this year. Dj5 has looked in every game about like ZC looked in relief of KB in the cuse game. That is what shocks me the most.
