What happened to the program that didn't always bring in

2

Sep 5, 2023, 8:22 AM

the top rated players, but developed them and got more out of them than the teams that got the "best" recruits?

Are we the new UGA? Doing the least with the most?

There is something going on, been happening since 2019 - no one is leading, no one is having fun, we're getting kids that look good on paper, but not on grass. No heart, no chip, just playing not to lose?

We have, or are sliding back to the Bowden years.

It's not development. The biggest problem is we don't have the talent at quarterback and receiver that we did before. That's the difference.

Its not that simple

Are you saying we have to have elite, generational, starting-NFL caliber talent to win? Otherwise we look like warmed over dog sh**? Id say thats a massive indictment on the staff we have here. Which, honestly may be the case. This program has been in steady decline for the past ~3 years. It may have finally landed with a massive thud last night.

i agree.......it's simple to see, but the answer is .......

deep rooted and long winded.

it's simple but it's not............especially now that the "festering" problems have been somewhat masked and/or ignored the last 4 years.

every moment that Dabo doesn't address the issues makes it that much tougher to come out it.

Pretty much, yeah, that's what it means. Tou have to gave talent to win.

So, then, Duke has more talent than we do?

Sep 5, 2023, 8:53 AM

LOL.....your argument is beyond nonsensical.

They have more talent at quarterback, and probably receiver.

On the 24/7 talent composite, Clemson is #5 nationally.

The "talent" is there.

Not at the positions that matter.

EVERY position group at Clemson is filled with 4* and 5* players. Every one. QB, OL, RB, WR, DL LB and DB.

So which positions are you talking about?

What are you talking about?

Cade had a 0.9951 ranking on 24/7. Ok, it's 0.0048 lower than T.L. 0.9999 but in reality that's just splitting hairs....

We are now losing to Duke. The players are not being developed and we are doing less with more.

Generally when you cant just single out one issue, it

Points to a larger problem organizationally. In this case, Dabo bet on his way in the old model, bet on group think with internal hires, and now he is too big to be told what needs to be done.

Streeter shouldn’t have been the only coach to go. CJ hasn’t performed as a recruiter, neither has Grish. Grish does not know how to coach up the WR.

We need to use the portal, but honestly, it clear Dabo is scared to bring someone in who’s had an experience elsewhere.

Dabo need to have his headset taken away. He has no feel for the game at all. His in game personnel decisions have baffled and befuddled for years.

Overall, Dabo is simply out of his depth in what college football has become. He was great for the old model, but he is going to win less and less in living rooms and he is strangling this program to death with the need to be the center of attention.

"Excuse me? I don't go down to your work and tell you how to flip the burger!"

without going into details here's the simple answer version.

#1 Hunter Renfrow probably the best and worst thing that happened to Dabo...........He now thinks every underdog he touches turns to Gold as Renfrow did.

#2 His incestuous coach hiring practices have blinded him to the good coaches and he's surrounding himself with a bunch of unqualified, echo chamber yes-men that used to play for him.

It's because Dabo has turned his staff into a job training program.

"Never played football, much less coached. Come to Clemson and be defensive coordinator."

"Were you an average college player but have a Clemson degree? Come be a position coach."
