Basketball experts who were so convinced that the basketball team needed new leadership! nctiger for one!
Eight wins already and several against teams who we might not have beaten is previous years.
The sad part is ..,there are many pseudo fans who can’t wait for my team to lose. Their next post will be …I told you so’

Enjoy the win! Year 14 many people have numerous reasons to feel like they do about Brownell. Not like anyone wanted him to fail or the Tigers to lose.

Even if we lose to Memphis, this team has shown it has fight and can score in different ways. Very unique for a Brownell team.
Stand by my feelings about change last year, but we didn’t and he is our coach and the Tigers are ALWAYS my team. Go Tigers and keep winning and exceeding!

We can’t discuss a win without sniping at each other? Until we have run out of games,hopefully we’ll into March, can’t we stay on the same side?

OTOH, you make the point for those wondering why he's still here "teams who we might not have beaten is previous years" We lost all those games in previous years under CBB, too, remember. Why did we puke all over ourselves last year against SCAR, Loyola-Chicago, Louisville, and Morehead State? What's different about CBB this year compared to the previous 13 years? Why did he fail to recruit or assemble a team like this one for more than a decade of trying?
That sort of thing.
Anyway, as I said, I'm thrilled with the season so far, hope we win every game and that we have similar success for years to come, CBB or no.

Why are we better this year? It’s clear the investment we made hiring better assistants is paying dividend both on the court and on the recruiting trail. We also made a commitment with NIL $$$ to keep the core team intact and fill in the holes on the roster. It’s also important to understand in 13 years CBB has only had one losing season and several very good teams meaning we needed another player or two to get over the hump. The AD has stepped up so the resources are in place to get the required talent.

The difference in those assistants salaries was a rounding error to our athletic department. Stop believing everything Judge Keller tells you. I’ve never seen nor heard any remotely credible assertion that Brownell has ever been denied the budget for the hiring of a particular assistant. If they are the difference - and I believe they might be - why did it take 12 seasons for Brad to say, “you know I could really use these guys on my staff.”? Not having a losing season, particularly in the expanded ACC, is not a point for braggadocio. Let’s not forget that these new assistants were on Brad’s staff from his earliest head coaching days at UNC-W. These guys were not stretch hires. If Brad knew they would make him better than they should have been here years ago. So, if the season plays out successfully, where should the focus be? Retaining the staff or giving Brad a big raise and extension? Because I know what most ADs would do.

We can all be thankful for Billy Donlon aka The Brad Whisperer being recruited here as an assistant. Brad is 6-0 in one score games since stumbling out of the gate 0-2 to start last year - a massive improvement over his success in this crucial category over his time here. A few more snatching victories over snatching defeats makes a big difference in the fortunes of a season.

Yea seems a little premature to say Brownell has figured anything out. Have not been a fan for many years but never have I wanted the team to lose. Just sounds stupid even saying it.

I've been positive about the basketball team this season. I realize a good year, and Coach Brownell will get a big contract extension. Probably going to be here till he retires. Might as well support the team.
