what happened to all the train derailments?

Anyone remember the sudden media fixation on train derailments in early 2023? Then the idea that planes were going to start crashing with regularity earlier this year.
These type of quick and brief fixations from the media or social media show that people are just hunting for ways to make everyone as fearful or uncomfortable as they can and then they latch on to what hits most effectively.
Seems worse than ever these days

Never heard of this until now, although coincidentally I had a pair of headphones shipped from Vancouver that were on a train that derailed last year. It was annoying, ultimately took them 2 weeks to get here.
