Anyone between the age of 25 and 55 who works as a professional already knows that what you put out on social media can be used against you in your career.

Consider Nate Wiggins...
Would he be better off keeping some of this thoughts to himself? Not doing so may have cost him some opportunities in the future at Clemson.
Of course, give him some grace. He is young and probably doesn't think much about the future.
He knows he has plenty of money in the bank now.

I would vote xyz before I voted D, and you may be somewhat ### backwards on policies and who benefits themselves. Biden has done it for 40 years.

ESPN is being inclusive. The Conservatives simply arent, and are living in the 1700s. America is a melting pot, get used to it.

Wow. You are just so wrong. With every word you typed, you were just wrong. If ESPN was inclusive, they would welcome Pollack and Ponders opinions and have open debate...but they don't. They squash anything that's not on their agenda. That's NOT inclusive. Most conservatives are "live and let live", just leave me alone and let me do my thing. Liberals are the textbook definition of hypocrisy and derision...kind of like your msg. As for living in the 1700's, you really can't be that naive.....

something as a representative of your company, you’re subject to that company’s policies. And an ESPN personality cannot decouple from their company.
I am sure he feels more free and good for him. I certainly thought he was good for ESPN and I think it was a mistake to let him go. And I’m not sure ESPN is on the right side of…much…when it comes to athletics. But being restricted on how you represent yourself and your company on social media is far from a new concept.

Pollack's own words
According to Pollack, no one at ESPN — the sports conglomerate owned by The Walt Disney Company and Hearst Communications — ever specifically told him what was expected of him or what he could and couldn’t say.
Doesn't sound like censorship to me

"But it was understood"! That is editing (you left that part out) that changes your point. Also, how did that work out for David? There is fear of losing your job and that type of fear is censoring!

He said it was clear to him that his actions on social MEDIA reflected on the MEDIA company where he worked. I'm sure every MEDIA company including Fox and CBS makes their on air talent aware of how social MEDIA can impact their public image. Again no one told him what he could and could not say

A company does not have to specifically censor you, it can simply be implied and serve the same purpose. I think some companies have an agenda, others just don't want to get involved.
Sadly too many people believe, "You have freedom of speech, as long as you agree with me."
As someone else mentioned he was good on e$sp, and I'm happy for him.

Gameday doesn’t miss him at all.
His complaints kinda fall flat overall because he was on college gameday. ESPN does have “woke” things that he hates on their talk shows, NBA stuff etc but it was never really on college gameday, so I don’t see how it really affected his personal job. Did he want to give Bible sermons on air or something?

Well the article states "— neither on air, nor on his personal social media channels."
What makes you think he wanted to give a Bible sermon on a show that is all about college football?

I was exaggerating

but what I'm saying is Gameday has always been a show about college football and has not had the political stuff that other ESPN shows have because I think they realize that the college football fanbase skews more conservative as opposed to like the NBA.
So I think Pollack is probably overstating the lack of freedom he had on Gameday when it was a show all about college football. It wasn't like he was a sportscenter host. I feel like he is more playing victim now and going for the grievance angle which is admittedly pretty lucrative these days.
