What are your three favorite Clemson football victories?

Jan 12, 2013, 11:03 AM

Mine are:
1. National Championship over Nebraska --- A new Christmas holiday family tradition has recently been started to rewatch this game which is one of the most flawless football games ever played by a college football team. Not to mention that Clemson is on a national telecast with network announcers showing profound respect for us without all the silly back-handed compliments and references back to previous years searching for negative snipets to utter so they can giggle like fifth graders that we hear from today's sophomoric bunch.
2. This year's win over LSU --- The number of key contributors, the need to re-establish respect and at least curtail (since nobody can actually silence) eSECpn's campaign against anyone who threatens their SEC hype machine during the coming year, and the less than two minute drill to win which established Tajh as one of the greatest quaretrbacks and Nuk one of the best receivers ever to play at Clemson.
3. The season ending win over South Carolina sitting on my football program in the grass on a somewhat rainy day in 1980 which likely saved Danny's job. Sort of knew walking back to the car that we had just witnessed an important event. Certainly knew we enjoyed the heck out of it.

There are so many but

Jan 12, 2013, 11:18 AM

I will go with:
1. Nebraska for NC
2. Scar - Fuller to Butler in 1977
3. Georgia - safety and field goal in 1987

I'd have to put LSU this season at fourth

This is kind of tough, of the games in my lifetime that I've seen in person or watched

1. Peach Bowl LSU - unbelievable game, unbelievable win and what I think will amount to a program changing football game.
2. 63-17 Coots - nuff said
3. FSU 2006 at Doak - no one gave us a chance in this game. Being a student at the time and sitting in the CU student section Doak was an experience I'll never forget.

I was also sitting in the grass on that day in 1980 after having had an argument with someone who said Danny would be leaving.

My top 3...

Jan 12, 2013, 12:14 PM

1. The Catch II - CU 16 - SC 14
2. 63-17
3. CU over Tenn in 2003 Peach Bowl

The 2012 Chick-Fil-A bowl was a great win, but for me it has an asterisk. It was the first big win for Clemson since my Dad passed away suddenly in May. He was a 1964 grad and an absolute die hard fan. Clemson football was a huge part of my relationship with him, and It felt strange not to be able to celebrate with him on New Year's Eve. I know he was watching from a better place, though.
For my Dad, let's keep the momentum going.
Go Tigers!!!!!!
