2011 West Virginia: 8.8 per pass 4.2 per rush
2024 Texas: 8.4 per pass 6.1 per rush
I just don't see how this is acceptable given the talent we have and I've been defending Wes this whole year. Yesterday was indefensible.

Wes should've never been hired in the first place as DC..........he's got to go.
I realize you're never going to fully "replace" a DC like Venables, BUT.......you gotta try and the Goodwin hire was a LAZY hire that blew up in Dabo's face............just like the Streeter promotion to OC. Just b/c you coach under good coordinators doesn't mean you'll be a good one.

Not even similar games though. We actually had a chance in this Texas game as bad as our D was vs the run.

…I also defended Wes all season, but yesterday PLUS the summary of poor performance over the season tells me we need to do something different with the defense.
Wes’s worst performances in descending order: 1 TX-totally inability to stop the run. 2 Louisville- D looked completely lost. Confused by cut blocks, couldn’t tackle, almost ended our season. 3 South Carolina-2nd half was horrible on both sides of the ball, but the decision to take Sammy out for an extra safety was just idiotic and we lost a game we had won. 4 Citadel- embarrassingly unable to stop a mobile qb. 5 Pitt-another cave in on both sides of the ball, Cade had to save the day.

Surprised the 4th Qtr of the ACCCG against SMU and losing a 17pt lead didn’t make your top 5… guess we need to make it a Top 6 bc that performance was putrid
