Stepped onto the t-head yesterday to fetch my boat early in the morning.
Glorious morning, btw.

Brought along a new rig and figured I'd set the drag and all that before heading out, so I flipped a new Ito jerkbait into 4 feet of water and WHAM* ... landed a 2.5? pound largemouth.

First cast of the year.

And that was all she wrote. Didn't land another fish all day. Burned $50 of fuel bouncing from point to point, cove to cove, only to leave knowing I could've packed it in without ever having stepped foot on my boat.

I love fishing. It's horrible and awesome.

lucky man! When I was younger...much younger, I would wear full camo and slip into ponds and wade them staying in the shade...Some of the ponds were worth it...

It is now the 14th and I haven't caught a single one. Have caught around 20 bass on the 1/16 ounce jig and one catfish but no crappies. Will see what this afternoon holds.
