Oldest son is a junior at River Bluff, and when he was in middle school he tried out for the robotics team and didn't make the team.
Well, like 3 weeks ago a friend of his on one team asked him to come help them out. He then was ASKED to join the club, well into the year, and without a tryout or anything. Few nights this week son brought the robot home and worked on it in our dining room. And today he's doing their first competition, and he's driving the robot.
Evidently the robot has to pick up blue and red balls, and the teams try and stack them in to tubes. Son of team filled a tube then he went and blocked the other end of the tube to keep the blue balls out. Only know they won, no clue how they score things, and there's something in the middle that counts for points that I don't really understand.
Same son who built his own PC, has a 3D printer and can use it, and now is doing robots. Also in the orchestra. He's got his momma's smarts. Anyway, it's live on youtube. I have to work some but am going after lunch to watch the end.
If anyone knows what the heck is going on here, feel free to inform me as I can't really follow it, only vaguely. Anyone care to explain the scoring, be my guest.
