Look I like Cade. He seems like a genuinely good person.

Nothing on the field has shown he should just be given the job going forward. Get someone who can push him in Spring practice.

If he wins a good competition vs either a new big recruit or portal transfer all the better. That probably means he’s improved and the competition was good for him. If he doesn’t win then at least Dabo has someone who can take over next year cause he genuinely won the job.

What I don’t get is why Dabo and crew are just giving Cade the job for another year. Nothing on the field has shown that should be the case. Also if the kid’s ego is so fragile that a QB competition would hurt his psyche then that’s just another red flag.

It is a big red flag with his bad play at times that we didnt see anyone else come in. I don't know if its portal fear causing that or lack of talent but it is concerning. Helms was serviceable. If Pearman is so great let him try something. Handing the keys to a guy who just isn't progressing is worrisome

I just don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to bring in competition? What’s the downside outside of trying to protect a kid?
