I certainly hope not but may spirit tells me he has a higher calling and it’s time for him to move on it.
I’ll be surprised if he’s around for next year, it’s a personal feeling and opinion.
Who do you think would be our coach of this happens?
I’m drawing blanks, maybe the Wake Forest coach or Mike Reed?

how are you going to discount all of that based on one season when we know he was dealing with a lack of talent at the skill positions and maybe even QB.

Higher calling to be a coach in the SEC or BIG? I think Dabo has 5yrs in him still but you can tell this landscape of college ball is not one he relishes to be a part of unlike the former.

sorry - "higher calling"? I know you mean well...but seriously what is it about Tiger fans that makes them expect the worst? We are a couple of plays literally from being in the National Mix last year with a Quarterback that wasn't at the level we wanted and an offense that sputtered quite a bit. Dabo wins, its what he does- -fish swim, some birds fly and some coaches win - and he's one that does. He has a track record that I wouldn't trade for anyone. Its obvious Kirby's folks are spending more money than us, Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama - -all are much larger fan bases, larger alumni bases and as such Dabo has my respect even more. It is literally David v. Goliath - - but its time for us to embrace the bigger picture. Dabo wins, he wins the right way, he graduates the kids, he builds them up and he likes what he's doing. Negative posts and negative energy is not what we need...we need the Natty level energy and natty level of expectation and natty level of support. That is how we continue to be in the national hunt...and then every few years, we have a DW or a Tajh or a TL that either gets us in the big game or maybe even wins it (maybe that is where Cade gets us to this year).
Sorry I'm ranting - but unless you're thinking that coaching at some other institution is "higher calling" - I really hope Dabo is here until he retires in 25 more years...

Clemson will be Dabo last coaching gig. He can stay as long as he wants too and I don’t see him leaving anytime soon.

I do too until the day he goes to heaven I hope he stays, I’m always positive about our program and coach’s.
I just have a feeling he might not considering where things are.
With Revival coming he could be called up to the big league for God.
It’s definitely not normal for me to make a post like this but I just have a feeling it might happen.
We can revisit in a year & I’ll say you were right if he’s still cooking for our Tigers. Dabo is the best college coach ever in my opinion hope he retires a Tiger & I’m sure he will.

He'd be leaving more than $80 million on the table if he called it quits after this season. There's more to life than money, but that's a lot of money.. He's only 54 years old, almost 20 years younger than Nick Saban.

I can't concur with your opinion but if he chooses too leave then so be it.He knows the writing is on the wall for college football to remain a true amateur sport.Dabo is a smart man and a smart coach and whatever course of action he takes,he will be successful.

I've felt for many years that Dabo would opt for a larger audience to guide and message to than a single school or club offers. Before we won our two championships, I was convinced if he did that then he would leave soon after to travel far and wide. Glad he didn't. He's kind of doing that now though with the stage he has and the national attention and emotion around his way and his mission for his charges.
I feel like he's in it to win it now with even more motivation to do so than ever.
Go Tigers! Go Dabo!

Where is what I believe..
Dabo will leave within 3 years He move from Clemson and NOT be in the shadows of next HC. He will move quickly. He will start to write a book about his life and share his values He will continue his non-profit and start another more faith based than the current one He will go on public speaking tour to faith and non-faithed meetings in corp world and chuches. He may or not take a speaking fee or travel expenses.
I do NOT believe their is enough money to drag him back in coaching and any level.
Lastly, there will NEVER be another type Dabo Swinney at Clemson nor anyother major football program.
Thats what I think..

able to express it. It is the American way! But I think Dabo ain't done. He wants to prove his ideas are just as valid if not more so than all the portal gurus. The best is yet to come! Go Tigers!!!

I think in his heart of hearts he realizes he can't win a national championship without use of the portal. So many other teams have shown great improvement thru the portal that in the past could not compete with us. It's not just a hand full of teams anymore. It's a couple dozen give or take and about half of those got there by use of the portal and big NIL dollars. Dabo can continue to be successful doing it his way but we'll see how bad he wants to win it all by whether or not he decides to adapt to the way things are done in this new era of "college" football. Personally, I have his back either way but wishing for some changes by use of the portal when necessary.

Posted same couple three months ago. He loves the platform it provides, and he/Kathleen have changed our corner of the world for good. His kids are set - think oldest two helping football this year - and their homes allow plenty of cover should our economy go horrid. They will continue to change the world - can’t wait to see where and how.

Leave the future seeing to Miss Cleo cause you couldn’t be more wrong. Dabo loves what he is doing, he loves for developing kids at all levels. You should see him with the kids at camp— it’s what his higher calling is— not to mention he would be leaving 80 million on the table. He’s not going anywhere any time soon, the CFB landscape doesn’t even cross his mind and he could care less.

I don’t think Dabo hates college football that much to forego $11 million a year.
But if he decides it isn’t for him, I would call Venables first.

I will say his demeanor has definitely changed from 10 years ago, even 5 years ago. There is almost a look of restlessness to him, uneasy at times.
While I do not see him going anywhere myself, I can certainly understand an angle where you believe it possible.
My questions are why do you think he leaves Clemson ?? And where does he go next, does he keep coaching at a lower/higher level ??

What's your spirit basing those feelings on? I think Dabo has made some comments he wishes he could take back. In my opinion the biggest thing for Dabo is being in a position to mold teenagers into solid men. The winning and awards are all extras. I think that's what he truly enjoys. Maybe I'm wrong but my spirit hasn't piped in for comment yet.

I dont think it is a crazy take you have here.......i personally think Dabo has silently in his own mind committed to finishing out his career at clemson till 2030 which is 6 more years, he will also be 60 years old then and about 80 million dollars richer.
However.....the reason i don't think your thought is crazy, is because we are in an environment right now where literally everything could change on a dime. If an event were to happen such as a large scale war or perhaps a cyber/grid shutdown.....those two events would be much bigger than even Covid and we see how much massive change that had not only in the immediate moment but the reverberating years and still going.
And without going on to long in this post if either of those two scenerios were too happen in the next few years, the entire monetary and ID systems will change.....forever......were talking 1913 level......why do I put forth all these "crazy ideas"? well i'm simply pointing out if any of that were to happen in the coming years.....you can forget about college football and pro football and sports of any kind for awhile.
So Dabo's "higher calling" might not ever be him simply making a choice to step away from Clemson it may end up being just forced on him and everyone else via world circumstance.
