Best of luck to him. Better to be buried with something that valuable (not meaning money) but NFL players aren't the lucky millionaires many perceive they are.

he had to sell it. Wish he had used his Clemson education for more than a few years of pro ball. He's was dealt a tough hand.

Wish I had the means to afford to buy it and give it back to the fridge.

If the Fridge doesn't give that kid his $8,500 back- after what that kid did for him- I honestly don't give a $hit what happens to him. Getting a little tired of his story- doesn't seem like a guy that's making much of an effort to help himself.

a debilitating disease didn't you? Ease up on the Fridge. I say we should take up a collection for him at the Notre Dame game. $5.00 per fan on average would be over $400,000 to help one of the most legendary Tigers of all time.

I hate it for him. He is a legend. He's in bad shape and needs the money I'm sure. I'm also sure some of that money will go towards drinking himself to death. Did ya'll see the special on him? Got to where he wouldn't get out of his lazy boy to take a #### but could get out of it to go buy a case of beer. I agree with the other posters, $8,500 should go back to the kid.

It was given to him. No strings. No requirements. I guess you still have everything that has ever given to you? You make statements about the man that you have no idea whether they are true or not "Coot There". You base your statements on a TV special? Go back to FGF!

Wow. So sensitive. They were indeed comments on a tv special. But, they came straight from Michael Dean and William's wife. He's a living legend and I'm grateful for what he did while at Clemson. That doesn't take away from the fact that some of his situation is due to decisions he's made. You believe in accountability? It amazes me how quickly some of you assume everyone on this board that doesn't agree with their position is a Coot. I'm far from it.
I hope the money helps him....truly do. Stings or no strings, the proper thing to do would be give the kid his money back.

I agree. Be careful how you respond though, you'll be accused of being a Coot!

He is my Aiken homeboy. I just hate to see how many bad turns his life has taken. He's a great guy and I hope things will improve for him.
