Ladies and Germs - it’s Ribelwee Week!

Mr. Cigar and Laptop comes to town. The Brad Brownell of College Football - David L. Doeren.

He brings a banged up Wolfpack that’s blown its load on some hurt players… can KC Concepcion save them!? (He did last year).


I think the real question is can our Tigers show up like they did against App State?

Will we see the O move the ball down the field?!?

an explosive game on offense it sucks it was followed up by a bye week. hope we dont come out flat like we have done so many times in the past after bye weeks. i dont get why we got a bye after only two weeks into the season to begin with.

Pretty much every team has 2 open weeks this year just because of the number of Saturdays on the calendar after Labor Day. Our other one is October 26. Having one this early puts us back to where we would normally be this time of year.

I thinks the App State game boosts CK2's confidence level up several notches. That may be the turning point that gets him where we expected him to be!! Open up the offense and let it fly!! Tigers 42 Pups 10

I think the O will have trouble pushing the ball down field. Doeren loves to stick it to Clemson and Dabo every time he can. I have great respect for what he has been able to accomplish at NCST, but I also think he is a little scummy....It would not surprise me at all if coach Doeren is playing a little "rope-a-dope" game with Dabo and we will see McCall and every other "questionable" starter. NCState always plays above their talent level in this game, and Doeren circles this one every year. They will empty out the playbook on O and D and play to a high level.

I expect to see a good deal of "Light" boxes and NCSt playing a good deal more of coverage. This has been the recipe in the past on beating Clemson, limit the big play and force Clemson to execute and move gradually down field. They will play coverage and come up and tackle the run and force Clemson to be patient and sustain drives (something we really have not been able to do in the past). Further, I expect if Clemson is able to execute, Mafah to have a big game. On passing downs for Clemson, Cade will need to use his legs a lot more (something he has not proven to do thus far in his career). If both of those things happen, Clemson walks away with it. If it does not happen and Clemson/Cade/Garrett/Dabo gets impatient and trys to force it downfield, we may have some turnovers and problems.

In short, I would take the points and NCst in this one if I were a betting man. I think Clemson is going to have some issues being explosive, because Doern usually schemes up a defense to take that away from Clemson when they play them. NCst also schemes up for this game a good deal of weird stuff they have not put on tape prior to them playing Clemson. I hope Tiger fans are not disappointed when we win by a touchdown or less....there is a distinct possibility this one will be close.
