The Olympic track events were extremely exciting

Wish I could have watched more swimming, gymnastics, and other sports, just didn't get the chance. But the track events were awesome. My favorites were:
- Noah Lyles 100m gold
- Gabby Thomas's 3 golds in 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m
- Cole Hocker going from 5th to 1st on last lap of the 1500m
- Quincy Hall's perseverence and surge to win the 400m
- Rai Benjamins tough win over the Norwegian in the 400m hurdles
- Rai Benjamin also holding off the Botswana runner for the 4x400m win while the women won by 4 seconds
- Keely Hodgkinson's 800m win
- The Saint Lucia woman winning the country's first ever medal with the 100m win

Biggest disappointments:
- Happy for Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone's world record win in the women's 400m hurdles, but was expecting Netherland's Femke Bol to be a close 2nd as per the buildup. Congrats to Anna Cockrell for silver.

- While the 20 year drought of men's gold in the 100m was broken, the 200m streak continues as former Clemson track star Shawn Crawford was the last to win 200m gold in 2004.

epic fail was the men's 4x100 relay. Baton dropping 101 school is in order for that program.

That 4x100 was terrible. The entire rest of the world can pass a baton, why can’t we?

Lost in the disaster. The fastest 4X100 run in Paris was the US Men’s semi-final, where they also had terrible handoffs. Even so, if they’d just repeated that goat rope, they would have won gold.

Terrible coaches

and too many egos involved.

We simply don't practice enough, and coaches overthink the order.

We should pick team of runners that are not running any other events. Take the 4 fastest guys and have them practice over and over again in the 2-3 weeks leading up the event.

It amazes me that US Olympic sprinters can't pass a baton! I only ran two years

of high school track and I swear...I could pass a baton better than those guys! I noticed it for years...has to be poor coaching! The guy receiving the baton should not have his palm facing straight up!

Same here. I missed most of the other sports, but enjoyed the track and field events I was able to watch.

Sometimes the road to the truth is so elusive it's confusing and reality becomes illusion.

We were great in track

To make up for slight underperforming in swimming, beach volleyball and wrestling.

I loved how both Rai Benjamin and McLaughlin out-dueled their European rival counterparts

US beach volleyball was a epic flop...

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Who watches this contrived nonsense?***

fastest Olympic final in history and U.S. men go 1 - 3 - 5 and their ages are 23 - 25 - 21.. bright future!

both the 4 x 400 relays came very close to a new WR

the 4 x 100 for the men was just a debacle.. and has been way too often
