Being the shorter at 5'11" of the WR commits, he could snag the slot position with his speed!!! Welcome to Tiger town Mr Brown

Watching his film,he's a HS kid that

actually runs GOOD routes, not just relying on speed

10.8 100 as a junior? Didn’t realize he was that fast! We have a need for speed.

Great pickup? Lot's of speed. Another Antonio Williams maybe?

Looking at his film, he is a 'make the first two men miss' type of guy.

Great hands and also a committed blocker.

10.8 100 meters ... that's better than just fast enough.

Excited about this guy!

Wonder why he's only rated at #127 for WR's? 5'11 and 170? Not big enough numbers? To put his speed in perspective, Ladson ran 10.9, Sammy Watkins ran 10.45, Spiller ran 10.22, and Jacoby Ford Ran 10.01. Antonio Williams is well over 11 seconds so it would seem that he's faster than our recent WR's.

He must not have camped much or he'd have a large list. Thinking we picked up one of them under the radar guys that'll make a ton of money one day. Loves to learn. Thanks for choosing Clemson.

Hey, if the kid was ready to brave Minnesota.

We haven't developed a WR since Jeff Scott left, but

One can hope.

Re: We haven't developed a WR since Jeff Scott left, but

Nov 25, 2022, 11:38 AM

Yeah we got the 127 ranked WR to commit. Why are we celebrating Medicare players but then expecting the team to be elite? Ohio State, Georgia and alabama win because of great coaching but they’re coaching elite talent? Look at the two years we won titles. In 2016 you had Mike Williams Deon Cain, who were absolute studs same with tee Higgins and Justin Ross in 2018. Hunter Renfrow made up for his lack of speed with elite route running ability. We have not recruited a wide receiver to be excited about really cents Justin Ross.

Go back to being a Jets fan. Just cause your New Jersey kid went to Clemson doesn't make you a Tiger.

You're all the fake fans Dabo has to keep addressing in his pressers. Entitled, Johnny Come Lately, fake bandwagon rider.

I like the kid’s attitude shown in his commitment pics….we can use a little “Rick Flair” vibe!

100m time roughly converts to 4.55-4.56 40-not bad and it's lasered****

Nov 24, 2022, 4:29 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

His 40 time is probably faster than that.

Nov 24, 2022, 5:56 PM

It doesn’t convert the way you were trying to calculate it. In track, indoor track, they run 60 m.

Basically great sprinters are still accelerating between 40 and 60 m. But around 60 m their speed levels off and they’re actually starting to slow down from 60 to 100 m.

When you see a 100 m race and it looks like one guy is running away from the pack it’s not that he’s out running everyone. In fact everyone else is slowing down faster than he is.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: His 40 time is probably faster than that.

Nov 25, 2022, 10:14 AM

Absolutely correct! Same with horse racing if you've ever looked at those splits.

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Exactly! Same concept.

Nov 27, 2022, 11:33 AM

That was the incredible thing about Secretariat. He has been analyzed and he could accelerate into the 3rd furlong and in the 4th maintain his speed when other horses had long started decelerating.

After his death they found During the autopsy that his heart was enormous. Something like three or four times larger than the average thoroughbred. And because of that, his heart was like an enormous engine that could keep pumping oxygenated blood to his muscles when all others would be breaking down because of lactic acid.

It!s amazing how dominating of a horse he was. I remember Seattle Slew being a lot like that in the late 70s.

Hopefully we can get our WR corp back to where we were a few years ago. That position overall has seen the biggest drop off. Well almost the biggest drop off. Big shoes for a lot of these guys to fill seeing who they came after.

He looks taller than listed. He is certainly elusive and appears to be tough to bring down. Perhaps another Antonio Williams.

If we continue to recruit skilled position, players that are not elite, we will continue to have an offer hence, like the one we currently have! A lot of people say that Jeff Scott was a key to developing a lot of these great players, and that may or may not be true. But when you have a roster of skill position players that aren’t elite, you can develope them till your blue in the face but you cannot teach talent? Our current QB struggles with his progressions. If the first one is covered he becomes a half field qB. He doesn’t have the ability to see the whole field. That being said his incompletions aren’t because he’s missing wide ope receivers? He’s throwing balls away because our guys cannot get open? If we continue to recruit WRS that aren’t elite, why would we ever expect a different result?Everyone brings up Hunter Renfro and how he was a walk on and blah blah blah. They forget though that Renfro had elite quickness and was an elite route runner. He also benefitted from single coverage because we had elite WRs that drew more attention. We don’t have guys that line up and tiny a post or corner and simply blow past the defender for an easy long TD. We rely on bubble screens and passes that Ttravel less than five yards past the line of scrimmage. DJ has struggled but part of his struggles is the lack of elite talent and it shows. Same with the RB position. Shipley is a good back he’s not a game breaker though. This will get all your panties in a wad but it’s true. If you’re honest how many times this year, while watching a game, have you seen him break through the line of scrimmage only to have a shoe string tackle bring him down and thought to yourself Etienne takes that to the house? Or Tavien feaster or even Adam choice?? Cheering for the commitment of an average WR validates the coaches job performance?

Thanks Coach. I hope to see you on the recruiting trail soon @TigerdadfromNJ

Men at 25 play football. Men at 40 play tennis. Men at 60 play golf. Have you noticed as men get older their balls get smaller.

Some of you coots need to stop beaching. This was a pretty good under the radar pick up! Not every commit is gonna be a 4*/5* and that's okay considering we already got some star power committed with him. Looking at his highlights this kid has good hands and is a dang good blocker with decent speed to go with it. He will be a project but if we can get someone to coach our guys up, he could become a big weapon for the offense.
