I am not on the Fire Dabo train like some of our Clemson fans, BUT.
This game was a wake up call to evolve with the changes in college football. The days of promoting and growing from within are over. That is not to say we stop recruiting our type of players and developing them. And it does not mean we cant ever promote a coordinator. But when when we loose someone like Venables we should have been looking at the best possible hire in the country, not just someone within our walls. When we need to fill roster spots, We should look to the portal and address the issues. Some of the top performances from this weekend in the acc came from TRANSFERS. And what makes it even worse it was at WR!! We also could have used more DL/DE depth as it is hard to plug in 18 year olds right away. I do believe there is talent on this team, but Monday showed how quickly programs can catch up in todays world of college football.
Also I hate the new running clock rule.
