Leave the ACC please and join either SEC or B1G. I prefer SEC but the Pac12 mess is trash.

Fools said the Baseball hire would be his legacy. Then improving the basketball program and now it’s conference alignment. BTW Neff would be the tip of the spear but the President and BOT are making this decision

I believe basketball will be Neff's legacy still. With the conference angle, he will likely play more of an advisor role with the Prez and BOT - sharing numbers and forecasts on scheduling and financial impacts. With baseball, which has a winning tradition, it was simple prudence in making that switch, which on paper looks like A+ work. Basketball, though, has never really won squat and is in the midst of a stale and tepid stretch with no real identity or direction. This is where he can have the biggest impact on our history and really build a legacy. Can you imagine if we were a competitive, winning basketball program, with student and fan buy-in, packed houses, and regular NCAA appearances? That would be epic, and I suspect Neff knows that.

We have definitely had more than one taste of that in basketball…

And yes, it was indeed fun.
I think that is why so many people really are frustrated with how stale it has been under Brownell.

We have to have an invitation to join and I just don’t see it happening. Even if we did get invited to another conference, any conference, I do not see our administration leaving the ACC. After all, we are a charter member. I really hope we move, but I just do not see it happening. But at least Max Lennon is not in charge. I KNOW what he would do.

tickets on the Titanic wouldn't have GLADLY given it up to be off the ship before it sank? The impending TV deals for the BIG and SEC next time around will spell the death of the ACC, if the ACC is stupid enough to sit still, or even moreso, if they are stupid enough to align themselves with another sinking ship, the PAC 12.

But I did not spend my entire navy career on the "55" because I was a plankowner. Things change. I say "Fair winds and following seas" to the ACC.

Does anyone have any credible evidence that we have been invited to SEC or B1G? If not it's a moot point.

All discussions will remain SECRET until deals are closed between schools, conferences and networks. That said, I agree with many that time is of the essence.

Do you really believe that Graham Neff is going to make that decision? The administration and trustees will make that decision. They may (or may not) ask Graham’s opinion and it may (or may not) have some weight.

It does not matter if the BOT or President make the decision. It will define Neffs legacy. He will be known as the AD

His "legacy" will not be determined by the decisions of others. His job is to direct and administer the Athletic Department regardless of what conference we are in.
