.... since "Lean" in my former businesses was about driving continuous improvement (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity) through waste elimination.... We also defined "value-added" activity as that which directly gives form, fit, and function to that which is delivered to the customer.... Thus by understanding that management is a non-value-added but necessary "waste" we kept the organizations relatively flat.... and very agile....

Lost me after: Finance and Operations, Student Services and Performance, and the Athletic Director’s Office. An org chart would have made this clearer. Still can't tell if the titles line up with the org narrative. Titles too long, but after all it's government/education, where more is more.
