BUTTTTTT, the man has only coached One year at the college level. I've said it before, and I've said it with Brownell. These coaches that we are getting are young with verry little DV-1a experience. They both are very good teachers at their game. Both have had very high success at their lower level jobs. But, they were both winners, and they will be winners at Clemson....

I agree with Morris-seniority doesn't mean anything. Put the best 11 out there & let'em play!

Agree with you and I agree with him. If TB had done that, we might have some championships by now, and he probably still would be at Clemson. That said, I am glad for who we have now. I would say the same thing with accountability holds true for coaches. In the past we kept some on staff who were not getting it done. That can not happen at these prices. Positive results should be expected at every level. I see very much improvement in this team. I hope it grows into a beast that is a force to be reckoned with.

From hearing Sammy Watkins interview
Aug 15, 2011, 1:36 PM
|
|
I think it is more about players effort and lack of skill than coaching!!
Sammy said in his interview that Scott was an in your face, push you til you can't go anymore coach.

If Morris becomes HC, then I think his HC duties will have

a negative effect on his OC duties and coaching on the field with the team.
Need DS with a moderate HC salary to manage it all and Morris with an equally high salary to do the OC stuff without extra distractions.
Rather pay them each (Dabo, Morris & Steele) 1.25 - 1.5 rather than one guy 5 mil. Hope they see it the same and stay for a long time!

I love hearing what Morris had to say too BUT

I also have to laugh when many of you equate negative comments with reality and positive comments with fantasy.
To illustrate this go no further than Fantasy Gamecoot Forum. You will see all kinds of negative comments on our players, coaches, and program. Are they more realistic than positive comments by Tiger fans?
I think Morris will bring us success because he works hard. But he tells it like it is and he has also been positive about Boyd and his improvement. Should we believe it? LOL.

level the generational playing field! And all of the others, (social, personal, political, educational, etc.) as well. It is so unique to be able to exchange feelings, impressions and ideas without knowing the age, race, sex or political leanings of your communicate. And although it happens all the time, it is very instructive to see. Wisdom, while not totally associated with age and experience, certainly could be.

We got ourselves a Son of a *****
Aug 15, 2011, 2:40 PM
|
|
Someone from the Alabama boards said last year we don't need Dabo, we need a Son of a *****. Well, we have one in our DC, now we got one as an OC.
Dabo has proved he can find the recruits AND the coaches (Steele, Hobby & Morris) we need. Steele has proved he can flat out coach. Let's see if Morris can do the same. If so, let's hope this trio of coaches stays here for a while.

The only downside that I can see with Morris so far is that we may not have him very long. If the way he coaches translates in to good things, he will be a HC somewhere in the near future. Really like what he is doing to this point!!
