What general would put his troops into battle without first arming them with as much strategic information as possible to gain a fast win with few or no casualties? What football coach would put his team on the field without providing them with a plan based on information that would deliver a victory?
Isn't this an opportunity for people to learn first hand what Hamas is about? For most people, especially college aged kids, Hamas exists only in the abstract. They don't exist as far as any formal recognition is concerned. Yet they're there. I bet in one day one could walk away with a lifetime of knowledge about them and the minds of folks who would just as soon blow themselves up as anyone else to further their cause.
You can only truly 100% support your cause if you're 100% against the opposition. People need to hear this to get that feeling. And get extra credit too? Jeez, a win-win...Colleges are made for learning and knowledge is power.
And by the way, I checked the local Berkeley (pls check your spelling) internet sights and the only Israel gatherings were last Sunday night on Yom Kippur when there was a candlelight vigil in support of the Israeli victims.
And public universities are the ones without firewalls. I believe you're confused about the difference between public and private.
