There’s really only 2-3 coaches that Dabo would be thinking about replacing.
Wes Goodwin Nick Eason Mickey Conn
Everybody else seems completely safe. I trust that Dabo will make the correct hire.

I'm surprised to see Nick Eason here. What's got him on the list?
And how about Mickey Conn? Mainly because the I'm not super familiar with his impact outside of recruiting.

Eason was the run-coordinator for the defense. Our rush defense was terrible.

In the not distant past, Eason was good enough to coach DL in the NFL (I think it was with the AZ Cardinals).
It’s not as if the NFL sought out Eason because of his recruiting abilities.
Just sayin.’
Moving forward, if there is a change needed regarding Nick Eason it might be to eliminate the run-game coordinator duties. IMO, the coordination of call8ng the run-game defense wasn’t our problem. It was more a problem from DEs not named TJ Parker that lacked the ability to set the edge, due to LBs missing their gap assignments, and due to poor coaching re tackling techniques & tackling determination.
I have no idea about which coach(es) bear responsibility for tackling. I can’t blame Chris Rumph for the lack of ability among DEs not named TJ Parker for setting the edge better. I can blame the LB coach for not teaching LBs with multiple years of experience for still failing to maintain gap integrity.

I don’t know if it’s fair or not, but Eason is a run game coordinator and our run defense lost us at least 3 games this year. I’m still in the camp that falls mostly on Goodwin. But that’s the only logical explanation I can think of for Eason to be on his list.

I agree it’s tough to tell.
Maybe it’s also partly the fact that he lost Woods to the DE spot, then to injury. Also lost Capeheart and Williams to injury and in their spots had guys playing out of their normal positions and/or out of their depth. I’m guessing he had nothing to do with the alignment of a 4-2-5 that took Brown off the field
It could be Eason isn’t very good but there are also some pretty glaring reasons that are largely out of his control

You going to blame Eason because our Linebackers weren’t coached and because we have a gaping hole at DE opposite of Parker?
Anyway, a DC is in charge of stopping the run. That’s the basis for any defense.

As a run game coordinator, he is responsible for breaking down the running plays, OL personnel, strengths and weaknesses, and favorable matchups. On game day, it is on the DC to use this information to make calls. Eason probably has little to do with in game calls.

Yeah but when your DC takes your best interior DL and move him to the edge with the others either injured, no performing up to task, or just not ready. Yeah things happen. Y’all need to stop being entitled , spoiled fans. Not every year you’re going to have the power rangers. A lot of yall never played football and it shows. You may be lifelong fans and whatever but some of yall never put your hands in the dirt and it shows. Madden and NCAA football don’t count. How about yall yell at Rumph for not having his DEs ready to compete outside of TJ.

But that doesn’t mean he’s a brilliant coordinator.

Eason could be moved to Recruiting coordinator and, assistant head coach, and DL coach. The run game coordinator spot would be filled by the new DC based on what he is comfortable with. A new DC will take lb's also.

Grisham bought himself some more time with how well Moore and Wesco performed this year.
Getting both of them back with Antonio and Tyler Brown… that’s one of the better WR cores we’ve had under Dabo, IMO.
We have to give him credit where it’s due. That room is in a much better spot right now.

When a bunch of us pointed out how bad Thomas Austin and Lemanski Hall were, they ended up getting fired.
We’ve noticed how bad Goodwin is. We noticed how bad the run defense was. We were born with brains. Try using it some time.

I’m not so sure that Tigernetters pointing out coaching deficiencies led to anything. It maaaay be that it was straight up obvious to CDS as were the run defense issues this year.
If he listened to TNetters everyone besides Eason, Luke and Reed would be sent packing at one point or another this past season.

It’s pretty obvious to see weaknesses on the coaching staff though. So it’s not difficult to figure out some of the decisions Dabo has to make.
Plus, we have insiders on multiple sites telling us what Dabo is considering.
Of course, fans will be wrong. I certainly was wrong about Grisham. I would have already fired him. Now the WRs look like they are in a great spot moving forward.

A plane going from Oxford MS to Clemson and then back to Oxford.
Could it be to get Pete Golding as our DC? They have a co-DC situation happening there and he also spent time as the co-DC at Bama under Saban
I would label this a pretty big get for us if we did get Golding

Ok, so a star player is all it takes to turn a zero coach into a hero?
Use that logic and we are always 1 player away from great coaches at all positions.
Our WRs STILL can’t block on a bubble screen, isn’t that coaching?
The WRs only did better because they are phenomenal athletes and Cade was a lot better this year. If you wanted Grisham gone last year, you should have the same opinion now.
