Thinking...even going back to last year really....why do ACC schools catch so much flack in the media about strength of schedule and that we will be left out if no one goes undefeated....I mean did anyone look at Oh St schedule last year and more importantly who they lost to, also go look at their schedule for this year....it's an absolute joke...it's think one ranked team in mich st they play, I just don't get how if we're in that boat last year with a loss I bet we don't have a chance in H3ll at the playoffs lol hopefully I'm wrong I just get tired of hearing all of it on that network when oh st schedule is pathetic.

I think some ACC teams would catch flack this season for not

Playing a tough out of conference schedule. FSU for example. Additionally, go look at NCSt's schedule. It is an absolute mockery of an out of conference schedule. I would be embarrassed to be a fan with cupcakes like that lined up. Their only chance of showing any prowess will be against FSU and us. I think there are some ACC teams that, if they went undefeated, would not get any respect in the polls and deservedly so. Lets say NCSt manages to go undefeated this season and argues a legitimate case for entry in the CFB playoff, it would be scoffed at and rightfully so in my opinion.
However in terms of Clemson perception, and not ACC perception overall, we have a decent out of conference slate of games. Our OOC schedule would look even better if SCar doesn't lay down and die this season. It would actually benefit us to have them as a mid-tier SEC team and potentially ranked to end our season with a statement game before winning the ACC title. Should we have one (early loss) like at Louisville, ND,or GT and win out (convincingly) and take the ACC crown, I don't think anyone would argue with our resume. Even the goons at ESPN would be hard pressed to deny a team on a 9-10 game hot streak with a heisman hopeful quarterback. We would look identical to Oh St. last year. We have enough history and tradition to gain more respect than TCU and Baylor from a national perspective given that we have won a title before, a BCS game in the past 3 years, and consecutive bowl wins against national powers. You have to think that Oh St. got this same consideration last season.
We will not be denied as long as we take care of business. Never mind this early, speculative talk. What matters, at the end of the day will be whether we approach our season one game at a time and take care of our business, all the while not paying any attention to the "talking heads" who are paid to speculate.

By the way, TCU has more National Football Championships than our beloved Tigers. They have two 1935 and 1938.

Yeah , TCU and Ole Miss were at one time two very strong programs . Looks like Ole Miss didn't get the memo that it was time to rise again .

...constitutes a killer out of conference schedule for the pre-anointed National Champs.

Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC, Alabama, and Oklahoma always get the benefit of the doubt in the rankings.
I honestly think that Urban Meyer will have his team ready to play. I do not see them losing a regular season game this year. They very well might repeat. They have no holes to fill. Their team is so deep without seeing a falloff in talent it is insane. Urban built his team off very solid, very deep O & D lines.

The Buckeyes are the only team on the list that will be in the play-offs. Before T'giving rolls around, the others won't even get their traditional 'benefit of the doubt'. Ohio State are absurdly deep and talented...but ACC teams are their achilles heel!
