If you hate the Conf. expansion topic, or just love the ACC no matter wut.....exit thread now.....
Andy Staples is legit. Nothing earth shattering, but video b/t Staples and Cameron is an interesting conversation and brings up alot points I have been making. A couple of new POVs as well.....
Like I've been saying, this will get negotiated one way or another. Once a relationship gets as sour as the one between FSU and the ACC, a divorce always happens. Always. There is simply no reality where FSU stays. Nor frankly where CLEM stays. As repeated ad-nauseum, listen to Dabo.

that the legislature is effectively tying them together, they'll both get spots very very easily and will take them.

It would be wild if FSU gets what they want but they become damaged goods with the SEC and B1G because of entitled behavior. Where would they go? I hope we are going too but not like a spoiled brat.

I dislike BiG even if great schools & history but they are dang Yankees, play in cold weather, food likes & culture are different, ladies “may not” be as pretty, yada-yada…
while SEC is more to our style ball, culture, cuisine, weather, regional localities known by many here, etc.. they still seem to be evil foreigners even though we’ve beaten up on our share of them last 10 years.
Saying, there’s no perfect scenario with joining either conference mentioned b/c we well be the new kid on the block and will probably be busted with worse schedules & game times issues, biased refs, unruly fans, etc.
Makes you wish the ACC had not gone off the rail with bad TV contract and choosing some bad teams years ago to join..and lately not getting better new name teams to join and having to choose from the bottom of the PAC12 pool of Cal, Stanford & SMU as last resort.

Warning to all listening to the interview....

.... Jeff Cameron is probably the most well known social media FSU guy there is. He works for warchant.com, the most popular FSU website on the net.
Good guy, very reasonable and rational - keeping in mind he looks at things though garnet tinted glasses.
I listened to this video yesterday. I don't remember if Clemson, or any other ACC school, came up in the discussion. But, I will say this. Jeff is convinced that FSU is going this alone. He is convinced that Clemson and UNC and every other ACC school are sitting back and watching FSU and then will profit, after FSU does all the dirty work, and leave the conference as well. He says that in many discussions when the topic is "Get FSU out of the ACC." I've told him numerous times in chats during streaming discussions that I am convinced that FSU and Clemson are in close, daily, communication and are working together. He doesn't buy it.
Just warning you, there are several FSU sites on the web that discuss the lawsuit. They give good information (some even interview lawyers who analyze the case from a legal, not fan, perspective.) But, if the word "Clemson" shows up it is usually in a negative context. I've tried to convince them that Clemson is an ally, not an enemy, in this realignment. But, hey, fans will be fans.

I doubt very very seriously that Clemson is in daily contact with or privately

siding with FSU with any actionable support. That would open Clemson to enormous lawsuits since they are, effectively, in the lawsuit on the side of the ACC as the ACC is in this to protect the interests of its members.
I can't imagine the liability Clemson would have with if 'this' was found out.

Hyperbole on my part.

I do think the attorneys at FSU and the attorneys at Clemson are in regular contact keeping each other up to date on the status of the lawsuit. I also believe that FSU are dancing partners and all the unofficial backroom talking that has been going on between "agents of the schools" and "agents of the conferences" see Clemson and FSU as a package deal.
I think it is naive to think that FSU is going it alone and just hoping that the B1G or SEC will take them in when they leave the ACC.

One thing that will be interesting to watch as this plays-out...

is what happens to NC State. I have read a number of articles suggesting that the North Carolina state legislature will not permit UNC to leave the ACC without NC State, and I suspect the Virginia general assembly will take the same position with Virginia and Virginia Tech.

The SEC will not take tag alongs. If two schools are tied together both will have to stay in the ACC.

I agree with bretfsu that Clemson FSU are communicating with each other. I feel they might leave together even though Clemson has been pretty hushed about it.

Everything is negotiable! Contracts, marriages, agreements , non compete clause, everything. That way lawyers are engaged on front end AND back end of all contracts. Nothing but backyard hoes.

...the ACC is a dead conference walking. It is going to be a G5 conference within two years. If Clemson wants to be in a major conference or be taken seriously in the future they have to get out. Not to mention the massive money difference. I for one and glad to see FSU drag the pathetic ACC administration and Swofford. Hopefully our administration is talking with FSU every day.
