Volleyball observations

I went to both volleyball games this past weekend where we beat MTSU 3-1 and Wofford 3-0. In both matches, the 2nd set was a wild one where Clemson rallied to win and take the momentum.

I think it’s pretty clear that freshman Kennedy Wagner immediately changes the team. She is a sparkplug, already acts like a team leader and is the most dynamic player, getting kills and more. I saw she was an Ole Miss commit but at some point must have changed her mind to Clemson.

Graduate player McKenna Slavik is as solid as ever, setting everything up for everyone. (Moved into 4th all time in Clemson history in career assists over the weekend).

I’m not as in tune with volleyball as a sport to break down everyone but the team looked pretty decent against warm up teams. Hopefully they can improve and make steps forward this year.


- also side note they play music after every single point now so if you plan on attending the games, be prepared to not hear yourself think for about 2 hours.

My family and I made a mad dash from Duncan on Friday after work (5pm) to make it through Greenville traffic in time for the match. I'm glad we did. Was surprised at how packed it was. My daughter (13) who is a volleyball player loved it. Even my son (10) was enjoying at the end. If you ask him he is taking credit for the win because he was making an annoying sound every time MTS was serving.

They could’ve been up 2-0 very easily. And yes it was apparently the largest crowd in the Simpson-Kirr coaching era.0

Thanks for posting and to all attending. We have a ways to go. Should improve through the year. We play sloppy and undisciplined at times.

You'll see that in tonight game with scar. We Should beat them... it'll be a good road test. We'll look like world beaters at times and then zone out. I've watched both. Hate that I can't attend. It's well worth it to go.
