Why would South Carolina lawmakers care whether SC plays BYU in basketball?
Coach Staley said it was in her team's best interest to cancel the series. She didn't accuse anyone of any wrongdoing or show any "far left outrage," at least not that I've seen.

Probably is. But we’re talking about a fan who may or may not have said something in an event involving a different team and different sport. If Staley’s team is somehow at risk I guess every school in every sport should cancel BYU.

distraction of having her team being asked questions about it, when they are likely trying to go undefeated and win another championship? I don't know...my point is, we don't know why they cancelled it. The lawmakers in the OP seem to have jumped to fairly extreme conclusion about it.

It’s possible she doesn’t want the distraction but she should know that by cancelling games she’s actually creating distractions. I have no idea what’s in her mind. I was a coach and player at one time. It just seems like an odd move on her part. Oh well, she has her reasons.

Great letter. While Prod's Pollyanna mindset is a good sanity check, the rest of us grounded in the reality of what the left is about know exactly why USC cancelled the series...because the woke leftists decision makers want to make the point that white people are racist and what better chance to emphasize that fact than to back out of a game with the uber white conservative BYU?"
There is not one football or basketball stadium in the country, anywhere, where you can repeatedly yell the N word at a player and not have the chit hit the fan between video recordings and the people beside you telling you to (probably making you) shut up.
If you believe the Duke's player story actually happened as she recounts it, you are sadly mistaken. Maybe she heard something and thought it was the N word or whatever, to give her the benefit of the doubt. But, no way no how at a major D1 university is this going to happen X number of times as a player is serving.

A school that I don't care about chose to cancel a game against another school I don't care about. No damages occurred. My life remains unchanged. It's a whole big nothing burger.

Its not an investigation. Its a letter questioning why the games were canceled. And I think the reason is obvious. Dawn Staley wants to make the point that white people are racist because she's racist against white people.
