Using this logic...

Many folks in this board think Bama would beat us pretty handily should we wind up playing them in the Orange Bowl. My opinion is this... To start the season we beat a healthy, very very good GA team. Yes we played a complete game with few mistakes/turnovers (compared to SC game) My question...How much better is Bama now than the GA team we faced week 1 and do we really gave a #### at winning versus them down in Miami ? Thx

We would face a no win situation, If we win we will here from the mighty SEC that Alabama really did not want to be there so they did not give effort, (The LSU excuses) if we lose we will here we are not in the same class as the mighty SEC.

Yep. We beat GA, GA beat SCar, and SCar beat us. Personally,

I don't think our lines match well at all with Bama's, and it would not be fair to our team to set them up in such a mismatch.

We had six turnovers Against USuC. If we play a clean game against them I think we could play with Bama. If we play like we did against FSU and USuC we wouldn't have a chance.
But I would like to play the highest ranked team possible. That's the only way to "see where you are" and it's the way to get tougher and improve.

If we win we get credit...LSU faked injuries every other play

And you're telling me they were disinterested in the game. They were trying everything they knew possible to win that game. Their D played smashmouth, get after the qb, football all night long. Propelled us to a nice preseason ranking which we could use next year if we're looking to land a post season playoff spot in to top four. If we beat Scar last week, we'd likely finish up in the top 4 after championship weekend is complete.

I think Bama is probably better overall, especially coaching. However I think it is important to play all of the best teams we can in order to improve, whether we win or lose. Of course we care about winning. That is the only way to earn respect.

Good post! Playing Bama would be a great measuring stick, and great recruiting tool, to end the season. Recruits would be impressed by that match-up, and that game would be just before the heart of recruiting season.

Makes more sense. Helps Dabo when sitting on those living room couches and trying to land four and five star recruits. Final thought....if it is Bama in the Orange we don't have to win but WE MUST PLAY THEM COMPETITIVELY !

it helps with recruiting only if you are competitive. it will hurt if you get beat badly. like our last trip two years ago.
