USC OL transfer question?

So what's this about they are appealing his one year of ineligibility due to transfer. Does anyone know any more details about this. If they have a chance of winning of this? Seems a little ridiculous.

He graduated from Wake Forest? Thought he was a sophomore. Was freshman all America. I'm talking about Cory Helms

He has not graduated. Supposedly he is transferring to be closer to home because his grandmother, who he lives with is ill. But some of the schools he was considering are farther away than Wake. It's a BS appeal.

chances are 9 out of 10, it'd be denied....regardless of the merit of the appeal.
one hates to sound so cynical, but experience has been a strong lesson.

it's a 5 hour drive to Wake Forest and a 4 hour drive to South Carolina from Alpharetta, Ga. Other schools he was considering, Miss St. Penn St and Texas A&M.

1. He has 2 years eligibility
2. He will most likely not win the appeal and has been quoted as saying so.
3. Winston-Salem is about 2 hrs and 45 minutes fr Columbia, not 1 hour
4. Yeas he was a freshman all-American

he was saying that he wanted to be closer to home

to take care of sick granny. His home is Alpharetta Ga. Alpharetta Ga is 5 hours from Winston-Salem and 4 hours from Columbia. So the move would put him 1 hour closer. I was pointing out that the difference in travel time would not make much difference. Plus the fact that he took visits to A&M and Penn St also shows that he was leaving Wake for a different reason than being close to granny.

It's yet another USuC lie

This guy is from Georgia. Supposedly, he wants to be nearer his grandmother, who is allegedly ill. If that's true, I wonder why he seriously considered transferring to Penn State and Texas A&M. Yeah, both of those schools are real close to Georgia.
This reminds me of the time USuC redshirted Wes Saunders his freshman year because of injury. The funny part was that they forgot to tell Wes that he was "injured". When a newspaper reporter asked Saunders about the injury, he didn't know what they were talking about.
USuC will lie about anything if they think they can gain an advantage.
