record flood levels elsewhere. Places in the Midwest have rivers 5 and 7 feet higher than the RECORD flood levels . That's not just that much over flood stage but beyond the worst floods ever recorded. One damm is nearing collapse that will add to the problem, inundating several towns in the Iowa region. And record heat in many other areas ...... and summer has just begun. And let's not talk about rip currents and shark attacks. I think I will stay home under my rock.

i was at a wedding recently talking to the father of the bride.
He brought up that he doesn't believe global warming is a real thing, it's all made up.
I told him that it is a real thing and all he has to do is look at the average temperatures of the town he grew up in when he was a kid.
Then he said something along the lines of "you BIden people are all alike"....
I told him i Voted for Trump and his head almost exploded.

It’s because the majority of the cult believe that if you disagree with them on hot topics you MUST be a liberal. I see it on here regularly. Because I’m not vulnerable enough to be in a cult I consider myself to be Independent. I agree or disagree with either party depending on the topic. I think we need to close the border but also I’m pro-choice with limitations at the same time. I’m tired of both the big parties at this point.

Absolutely cat! I know of no one who is blindly following Biden anywhere. If anything they are supporting the Democratic Party. That is certainly not true about Trump. He’s loaded with bad qualities and the Evangelicals are just overlooking them all to do whatever he says. It’s more about the person than the party in his case.

Temperatures are not a single bit higher than in the 1900's, 1800's, BC ages anywhere in this world right now.
It just seems like it because all these news reporters and the media would have you believe this because it makes news more interesting to scare people into believing fallacies. Record temperature in Charlotte was in 1959, 4 days in a row of 104 degrees not including this heat index they have come up with tells you what it actually feels like outside....well if it is 104 degrees, it should feel like 104 degrees or otherwise the weather is wrong lol, always made me laugh with that addition to the local meteorology report. Who cares what temperature is, tell me what it feels like so I can make a decision about how to carry out my day based on weather trends...only partly kidding here.
Weather is cyclical in nature, it changes year to year and you will always have some unusual highs and lows, and occasionally the record high temps...But it is nothing more than a cycle and will always will be this way.
The Ice Age was how many years ago now ?? Could it come back around, of course it could but no need to do anything because what you or I do will mean nothing because it will happen with or without us.

it's not hard to keep track of the daily temperature everywhere.. then average them. The temps are trending higher.
You are correct this planet has gone from 100% molten lava , to rock, water, ice and everything in between over the course of its history. This could be a normal planetary cycle which could last for centuries or millennia before it completes.
it could very well never stop getting hotter and be on its way to being the next Venus.

People will make excuses to defend people they've never met before in their lifetime while defying what scientist all over the world are saying, and these scientists have studied and recorded the weather patterns their entire careers, and they have compared their recorded history to the recorded history of scientist long before them and all that recorded history is telling them that this planet (earth) has become warmer.
Check out the link below, copy it and show it to the father of the bride just to show him how stupid he is about global warming just bc he has the right to defy recorded history from the people who study weather change every day of their life and comparing with the history that was recorded by people that has studied our climate long before them. Let him know that people don't have to be scientist to understand that we've had scientists that has been studying our climate for hundreds of years and they know a little more about what's been happening with earths climate than he could possibly ever know by repeating stupid chit that he's heard other stupid people saying in just a conversation of what to believe, or what not to believe...

according to the article you posted and Gregory wrote:
Those scientist didn't say they don't believe in climate change. Climate change is as undeniable as evolution.
Looks like they signed a letter stating they question using science for political agendas and that there is no undisputable proof that says the current trends are caused by people.

Isn't the implication of global warming that it's human induced? As you said, the climate has been changing since the beginning of time.

Yep. What really gets me is all the predictions that dire consequences will happen in x number of years if we don’t change some behavior that fits their agenda. Some of those made 30-50 years ago would have us extinct by now. And exactly none of them have occurred.

It's the man-made GW theory that is absurd. It is all about control If they can stop you from using gas stoves, Gas powered automobiles, and now they are even saying stop eating meat because of Cow Farts. Bill Gates invests in lab-grown meat and then Farming becomes a problem? Tell me how that makes sense.

Not believing the planet is changing is asinine. Buying into “global warming” and the causes is a whole different conversation. Put me in the class that thinks it’s a natural cycle and the government push is bull crap.

Do you believe that things happen without a cause. I personally believe that everything that happens had a cause that brought on the effect...
I also believe that with humans polluting the atmosphere every second of every day is the main cause of climate change!!!

I for one don't deny that the globe may be warming (or at least that the climate may be changing), nor even that man almost certainly has exacerbated this trend (or even caused it).
But the earth has gone through severe climate shifts even within the last few thousand years--none of which were precipitated by man-made pollutants.
11,500 years ago, much of the Northern Hemisphere was covered with mile-thick ice sheets. Yet that ice all melted. Why? Was the ice an aberration (no) or was the warming an aberration (no)?
What caused the medieval warm period when olives last grew in England and Vikings last lived on the shores of Greenland and silver mines in Sweden were not covered by glaciers (they had silver mines that were subsequently buried by glaciers that have been rediscovered as the glaciers recede)? What caused the subsequent Little Ice Age that saw the Thames freezing solid every winter for 200 years, and farms and villages in northern latitudes were destroyed by expanding glaciers?
The sea level has risen 120 meters over the last 20,000 years, with virtually all of that rise taking place before about 5000 years ago. All without the help of man.
I think some people would have complained bitterly about the retreat of the Laurentide ice sheet, if they could pin in on oil companies or capitalism. Heck, they would if asked on polls: "Do you believe AGW is the cause for retreat of the Laurentide ice sheet? Yes or no?" because 99% of people (a made up statistic) have no clue what the Laurentide ice sheets were.
Sometimes I imagine a modern society 10,000 years ago, complete with MSNBC announcers pronouncing their dismay about the loss of habitat for the Ohio Basin polar bears, because the ice "which was once 1km thick is now only 250m and completely gone at some points".
If we could run our societies without belching pollution into the atmosphere, it'd be the better alternative. I'm not against "doing something" and certainly agree that pollution is bad. I'm not willing to put my faith in a demonstrably ineffective Government, nor am I willing to live in a cave, naked and eating dirt (but my carbon footprint would be pretty low if I did), nor am I willing to cripple our economy.

The thing that always baffles me is the exclusion of all the millions of miles of black tar asphalt that hoard heat like an oven that get a free pass from the conversation. If you don’t believe that contributes to the temperature take your shoes off and walk out on the asphalt tonight after dark and it’ll be still warm. Never gets a mention be it doesn’t fit the narrative. The growth of the human population definitely contributes but goes without mention. Doesn’t get the attention but gather a large group of people and place them in a room without ac. Almost immediately it becomes unbelievably hot. 98 degree body heat emits from the body continuously regardless of where it is. Sure we contribute to climate change but it’s inevitable just by being alive but I don’t see any volunteers to reduce the temp by eliminating one 98 body.

There's actually more water falling from the sky today as increases in ocean temperatures create more water vapor, which rises up into the sky, accumulates, then falls back down to earth somewhere. It's a pretty straightforward equation there.
The balance between man made and natural is hard to peg for sure, but the levels of CO2 in the atmosphere are at million year high levels today, and the idea that mankind burning the #### out of anything it can find to provide heat and energy playing no factor in that just isn't realistic. It's always surprised me that Conservative reasoning hasn't been more supportive of man's impact on our planet considering the bedrock principle of actions having consequences and the personal accountability there being such a part of that train of thought.

1 mile from where I work, we heard the ambulance taking them to the hospital . Funny, it has not gotten above 85 in a few days and it is sweltering everywhere else. 20 inches of rain a couple of weeks ago was fun though, some parking lots are still flooded on the island.
