Tyler Brown should be named

12

Oct 1, 2023, 9:19 PM

The new wide receiver coach. Guy keeps on moving to get open. He goes and grabs the ball, fights for it in close situations

If we can get him and Williams on the field

Together we will be a fit for anyone. Him, Collims, Williams. And Stellato are the future.

Looking to get open when QB is in trouble is called scramble ball. Dabo said TB is one of the best. My question is: "Why is a late summer enrollment the best when our sophomore and juniors should have been coached up to achieve better?".

So TB comes from HS better prepared than our WRs with multiple yrs of coaching? This needs explaining! Unfortunately, Grisham needs to improve or be replaced soon!

That or Tyler is just better than the others.

if "getting open" is not one of your absolute Primary skills

then I would suggest a move to either 2nd Base or Outfield.

He's our only guy in the receiver room that has "breakaway" speed....that has a lot to do with it.

Screw Calford.

Hunter Renfrow did not have breakaway speed, yet he was open quite often on third down. It’s about knowing where the defenders are NOT going to be.

Hunter Renfrow had a cutting and change of direction ability

Yes. Out of the dozens of flops under Grisham

Oct 2, 2023, 9:54 AM

Brown is the proof that his system totally works, and isn’t the exception to the rule.

Please list the 24+ flops under Grisham excluding Swinneys. TIA.***

Typical Grisham defender.

Give Tropical the evidence he asked for, at great expense to my time and productivity, and he clams up cause he’s got nuthin.

At least say “ok you were right, I feel stupid now and see the error of my ways.”

Or maybe our staff hasn't had a chance

to stunt his development yet like they have most other receivers we've had the last few years.

Being a Brownell supporter, I recognize your capability to identify stunted development. No mas!***

The negative nancys might say he is really good because he hasn't had a year of bad coaching.

I however actually think our current WR coach is great and our performance has been a combination of bad personnel and a change of QB. But I can see both sides.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The atrocious inability of our WRs to block

Oct 2, 2023, 9:42 AM

lack of aggression and drops is still a problem.

This guy is a high 4 or maybe even 5*. The recruiting services didn't do their due diligence here. I don't know who on our staff caught his eye but whomever it is , perhaps Grisham, deserves praise. We easily could have landed one of our higher rated offers at WR and who in reality wasn't as talented. Glad to have him. This season isn't over but I'm already excited for next year with what we have coming on offense , not just the WRs but Betancoure (sp) and those 2 RBs who might also be breakout players. I know , I know , but I'm hopelessly in love with tiger football.

2024 purple level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He was definitely a great find by our staff.

I'd love to know who deserves the credit for it. Brown is an outstanding player.

I'm glad we have a freshman pushing some of these guys

Competition breeds excellence

Because of transfers and injuries I think we have had some complacency

Your coach can only push you so hard, but a second stringer breathing down your neck is what some of these guys need in my humble opinion

This thread really disappointed me. I thought from the subject it was going to be nicknames for our new standout WR!

My nickname was Touchdown Tyler Lovely.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

+1 No argument Tyler Brown is #1 WR for Clemson

But we need him on the field. Not coaching.
