Interesting because insurance is run by the states (each state has their own laws and jurisdictions), and those differ across the country. Irony is an industry defined by the spreading of risks, is hamstrung by state laws on insurance that compartmentalize it.

I feel like Hurricanes and tornadoes have something to do with this. I could be wrong

Without doubt. Just the same, the SC PSC is rife with grift...***

Why is California so cheap, though? They have wildfires every year and earthquakes every now and then. California also has some of the highest property values in the country. Regulations, maybe?

New Mexico being that expensive is brutal, considering how poor the state is. I don't think they even have that many natural disasters.

NM is po. I spend time out there each year and some of the stuff that people live in is really bad.

They’re #1 percentage wise in mobile homes, but SC is #2.

Odd they don't have more tornadoes in NM. I mean if what you say is true

Should be Tornado Alley (West) in NM.

So I guess no state income tax giveth and home insurance taketh away in FL.

In CA, the state takes it in taxes. They cut the insurance companies out.***

Is SC overstated too?
