I have no idea what the orange turd said, but I do know that it is not presently in his
power to ban anything.

Did Trump say that he will work to ban abortion if he ecomes president?

(Pretty weak attempt to dodge, dude.)

Trump has repeatedly said that...

....he agrees with the SCOTUS decision and he believes abortion should be a state issue, not a federal issue. The platform of the Republican Party changed this year to reflect his position. For over 40 years the platform has called for a constitutional amendment to ban abortion. This year it supports the right of the people in each state to determine what, if any, restrictions should be placed on abortions.

My pro-life pro-Trump friends are becoming mental contortionists trying to explain to me how Trump's position is pro-life. They are trying, but so far have not convinced me.

He supports private funding of abortion, private funding of transgender surgery on minors and same sex marriages. My social conservative friends are trying to convince me he is God's chosen candidate and a strong supporter of traditional family values.

I think Trump realizes that a total ban isn’t possible and could have unintended consequences. I’m kind of in the middle on the issue. My view is any abortion before 6 weeks is acceptable. Also, there should be a safeguard in place that makes sure a woman isn’t repeatedly getting abortions as birth control. In cases of rape, incest, or saving the life of the mother it should be the woman’s decision.

Even most Republican voters think abortion should be legal in most cases. The party was smart to finally change their platform. Supporting a national abortion ban is of the few things that could cost Trump the election at this point. Remember when deep-red Kansas had an abortion referendum back in 2022? The pro-choice side won by almost 20%.

He did not explicitly state he was in favor of national ban last night***

At times over the past eight years he has hinted he might favor might not. So based on those statements - people still have concerns. But yeah - since his court overturned Roe - he hasn’t said anything but “I gave it back to the states”

However, if somehow a law made it to his desk for a national ban - he is signing it.
