Top 5 why we lost

Nov 25, 2012, 2:49 PM

1. Clowney-if he is on our side we win. DL played better than FSU
2.Dylan Thomas-who'd thought he'd have the better night
3. Way too many 3 and long conversions.
4. Turnovers killed any mo we got
5. Dropped balls-playing tight

I'd amend #5 to playing tight and hearing footsteps! Their dbacks intimidated our receivers most of the night...check the video!

Your assessment may very well be partially correct. The reason we lost the football game was due to lack of physicality. We just are physical. Our offense is the problem. It is a finese type offense. We just aren't tough enough, especially up front, to run the football sufficiently to control the game. We look pretty well in the ACC but we are absolutely no match for the SEC. As a long time tiger with two grown children who are lettermen, it's hard as heck to swallow. Some people may want to point to the defense. The defense is not the "big" problem. I would love to see the practice ######. We need to go to Alabama, LSU, or Georgia. What is the common thread? Toughness. If we are not physical enough to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, then we've got trouble outside the ACC. Why was Stanford successful against Oregon? Toughness, physicality, a "tinge" of meaness. Oregon is definitely no match for the big guns in the SEC. Every year we acquire a sense of pseudo security and/or confidence when we beat most everyone we play around the conference. When it comes to sakarlina, we have problems and those problems carry into our bowl performance. It doesn't matter to me if you agree or not, I've been around the sport long enough to come to that conclusion over time. It is just my opinion. I may be as wrong as can be. At least, think about it.

defensive talent. they controlled the ball for most of the 2nd half. we couldn't make a 3rd down stop when we needed too. as an example- brewer dropped 2 sure int's.
