Top 3 Clemson QBs to date?
Jan 9, 2013, 3:21 PM
|
|
Anybody want to take a crack?
I know the glaring issue with Tajh is that he's 0-2 vs. the coots, but he's got an ACC title, two 10+ win seasons, and has re-written the record books... So I think he's #1 right now.

Boyd, Fuller, Dantzler . . .

The issue of not beating Carolina is really not a factor in considering who the best QB is. The variables such as quality of surrounding cast and the quality of Carolina's team make it so that you're comparing apples to oranges.
Boyd has by far the best arm, and is as good of a runner as any. His decision making isn't quite what we had in Fuller, but he is a better all around QB.

We posted the same names at the same time. You sir, are a football genius. I don't count Boyd because he's not done and I didn't think he was meant to be included in the discussion. Like you, I would like to think to be a great Clemson QB, you MUST beat SCar. but it's not really a factor.
If Boyd is in, my 3 are Fuller Dantzler and Boyd.

boyd is light years ahead of dantzler in the passing aspect

of the game, whereas dantzler would run circles around boyd! both are very good at their respective strengths, but boyd has a far better supporting cast, too. both are arguably in the top 5 of all-time clemson greats (at the qb position).

that go with it. 1/3 of those are to USC. Keeps him out of the top spot.

And I quote!
Jan 9, 2013, 3:34 PM

"?I?ve watched him practice and I?ve watched him play (baseball). He?'s really good looking. If I was a girl, I?d be very interested in him. He wears those tight pants. When you wear loose stuff, you can?t tell the definition of a guy?s body. In baseball, everything?s tight and you can tell he?s very well put together.?"

Right now it's too hard to say. If Tajh wins 10 again next year and beats South Carolina, he will likely hold the number 1 spot in my book. Long way to go.

Based on the criteria used, the order of those could change, but to me, those 3 were clearly the best pretty much anyway you look at it.
