They will have to remain in-house for the upcoming season and may need to offer them a multiyear contract to prevent them from joining Vitello.

He's a total d-bag but a good coach. There are some valid doubts about his coaching as Tennessee has been notorious for throwing money around. How much was his ability and how much was it buying the best players?

Players respond for him and play hard for him. He's a player's coach for sure, I imagine it translates well to the MLB but it's hard to say.

On his way to SF.

He is a great evaluator of talent and good at recruiting. We'll see how that translates to the Majors.

Predictions?

Sad.

We'll never accomplish with anyone else with what we did with Tony. He was the Nick Saban of baseball. The sad thing is our AD butted heads with him and didn't try to keep him. Only spoke to him one time in the last five days and almost never in the last two weeks. Sports Illustrated is reporting he will actually be taking a pay cut from what he was making at Tennessee to manage in California. He is once in a generation baseball coach and irreplaceable.

This is really frustrating with all the money UT throws into football and are just an upper-level middle of the pack SEC team. Wouldn't surprise me to see the football team finish fifth, sixth or seventh this year.
