1) FSU loses.
2) Orange Bowl record book may be rewritten.
3) ESPN having to broadcast a turd of a game with potential turd ratings.
4) Talking heads can’t say “We told you so” because FSU had 20+ op outs, which commentators have to address, non stop, to excuse the terrible showing.
5) Pitfalls of building a team with the portal exposed.
6) Norvell is a weasel, he deserves every minute of this after what he pulled during COVID.

The national championship last year did have a big problem of causal fans tuning out before halftime. It’s reasonable to expect that same to happen here.

It sounds like you cared more about playing football than you did player safety.
The player in question who tested positive the day before the game had been practicing all week despite being symptomatic.
There were 18 other games canceled or postponed that day, so it wasn’t like ours was the only one.
I know it sounds macho to suggest that Florida State was scared to play us and used that as an excuse, but there was still a lot of uncertainty at that time around the virus and the contagiousness of it.

1) The player who was symptomatic tested negative twice during the week.
2) His third test was a positive, but the results were not known until Clemson had landed in Tallahassee.
3) No other players tested positive or were symptomatic.
4) Clemson offered to rapid test the entire team prior to kickoff, and push the game back to that night, Sunday, or Monday, to allow for this testing, FSU declined.
5) All ACC protocols were followed. All Clemson players had traveled to Tallahassee wearing N95 masks and observing social distancing.
6) Both the ACC and Clemson approved moving forward with the game, FSU declined.
7) Norvell’s initial release implied that the game was not being played because of protocols put in place by the ACC and FSU.
"Our first priority is the health of our student-athletes, and I appreciate the protocols that have been put in place by FSU and the ACC to ensure everyone’s health while allowing us to play this season," FSU head coach Mike Norvell said in a release.
"It’s unfortunate that we will not have the opportunity to compete today, but we hope to be able to play Clemson in December. I am thankful for the support and coordination between our administration, Clemson and the ACC office.”
The fact of the matter is because all ACC protocols were followed, it was up to the schools to decide. FSU alone declined.
8) “Taking aim at FSU’s administration, Swinney expressed frustration in the fact that no game had previously been called off because of one positive test the day before and that all ACC teams had agreed before the season to expand their travel rosters from 72 to 80 players in case something like that happened.” -TCI
9) Clemson spent roughly $300,000.00 on travel, and to my knowledge was not reimbursed for any of the expenses.
10) Clemson was #4 in the country (7-1) while FSU was 2-6.

The fact that FSU would not even consider postponing the game 1-2 days to allow for entire team testing is telling. They did not want to play that game. Period. FM stated facts.

Watch a few minutes of the debacle, then switched over to the CW to watch Toledo-Wyoming.
That was a fun game to watch, with a come-from-behind walk-off FG winner, and the Barstool announcers were a riot.
