Tomorrow's game could very well define Dabo's entire career.

It's not my opinion, it's basic cognitive science of the human biased brain housing group; and for Dabo's sanity and the value of my house, I hope the team performs as it could/should against the gold helmeted Catholics.
Otherwise, we're nowheres near the trough of the wave...

I couldn't disagree more. No matter what happens from here on out, Dabo's career has been defined. He'll be remembered as the greatest football coach Clemson University has ever had to this point in history. And if, or when, he turns things around, he'll become legendary in the sport of college football. I, for one, can't wait to see it. BTW, I'm predicting they beat the "Irish" tomorrow! Go Tigers!

I seriously doubt one game in this singular crappy season defines the legacy of a man that’s only 53. I’m on the side of folks that believe Dabo must made MAJOR staff changes and use the portal.
The man is already a Clemson legend. One bad year doesn’t take away all the many accomplishments.
Believe it or not, you can be a Dabo guy and at the same time understand he has made weird mistakes that are strange for a guy to make after all he has accomplished.

This is ridiculous. Dabo has already won two national championships. He could never win another game and would still be remembered as one of the greatest college football coaches of all time. Connie Mack never won another World Series after 1930 but so what?
Right now the central remaining question of Dabo's legacy is whether he is able to adapt to college football going from an amateur sport to a semi-pro sport. But if he fails to adapt it won't affect his legacy much at all.

Tho, maybe all this Tyler drama will actually work in the Team's favor... we shall see.

If we play our best game that means we're being competitive, therefore, Dabo and his career wouldn't even be brought into the narrative. Just our rebuild. Kinda the point of the post.
But if we #### the bed, like last weekend, the criticism is going to be catastrophic enough to change a man's direction.

Not even in the ballpark coot. There are 2 National championships and more to come that will define Dabo’s career!!! Now at cooterville where defining a career is having a winning percentage of 50% is considered a good year then the 2 wins might define your coach’s career!!!

I wish it was nonsense, but it isn't. Research the human mind, which fans are humans, correct? It's kind of like if you raise a child and this child gets the finest upbringing. Then as your child becomes a teen, you have to discipline your child for making fool decisions, so you take their BMW and now they have to carpool/bus to school for the rest of the year. Now all your child will harbor is the fact you disciplined them and took their ride. In fact, they won't remember all the vacations and all the family get togethers and all the beautiful dinners.... just the fact that you bent them over and left them feeling less than stellar.

I have criticized Dabo myself, and for longer than many here, but you're 100% wrong on this. No single regular season game "defines" a long-term coaches career.

If you couldn't tell yet, social media and the internet can quickly change narratives... look at our last President of the USA. He didn't stand a chance against the BS media. Let's hope that kind of energy doesn't descend onto Clemson because of Dabo. All this old testament stuff may be a short term save for the local old school Tigers, but with such a hefty monetary contract, which will keep bringing loads of attention, he hase to make smarter social moves if he wants to sustain in the industry nowadays.

I think his legacy is cemented with all that he has already accomplished. The only question is whether or not he can add to it with a successful turnaround and get us back in the playoffs.

He without a doubt changed college football in a way that Espn and the larger syndicates won't admit. The SEC, big 10, etc., rivalries were not boring, but a bit old news. Along comes this Orange team from a state most people thought was an extension of Georgia.
He is a game changer in a lot of ways. I permanently came to the Clemson area near the time he did, and at the time education was the only thing on my mind, not football. But eventually his energy was felt throughout, sometimes in a negative way, especially the short time I was working at Clemson University. But, it is the "mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it," no?
I then was closer to him during local youth sports, and I realized he's a bit like most of us. A motivated MF, and like him, if giving the opportunity, would kick ### like he has. He's Clemson's Jesus by default, and he knows it. Well some of Clemson.

I, too, agree that his legend is already made. But a bad loss tmr and a mediocre 2024 would be foot notes to that legend.

I mean, there’s internet hyperbole and then there’s this.
Big game, sure. Career defining, no. With a coaching career as expansive as Dabo has had and will still have, there can be no single game that defines a career.

Could define Dabo's career, hear me out

Like the original post, this could define Dabo's career, but in a different manner.
A loss here is nothing more than a loss. It means nothing other than having a bad season.
A win here, especially one with a dominant defensive performance, without committing turnsovers and a produces some high octane offense and the season looks completely different.
A win against Notre Dame gives Clemson some light heading into the final three games.
A solid all around performance that leaves no doubt on the field tomorrow proves that there is not only hope but reason to be excited about what is to come.
Anything more than a 10-pt victory over ND will create a spark that resonates throughout college football. This is a ND team that should have beat OSU. A team that demolished the real usc and beat ncst by three touchdowns.
A convincing win against ND would reinvigorate the team, the assistants and Dabo, pushing the team to erase a two-game skid and finishing 4-0 for an 8-4 campaign.
No, 8-4 won't cut it. Ask CTB. But 8-4 looks a heck of a lot better than 6-6 and it would come at the right time with HS playoffs starting/ending, to showcase what Clemson is made of.
While a loss won't define Dabo or Clemson, a win could just be the shot in the arm everyone is looking.
Go Tigers. Beat the Irish outta ND.
Clemson 24 ND 13
Defense seals the game with a pick-6!
